Received my hard copy Rose Bowl tickets from OnLocation
Have you ever gotten something official-looking in the mail that makes you nervous but actually ends up being something nice that makes your day? Me neither... until today.
OnLocation (the company that sold the MGoBlog Rose Bowl ticket package) just sent me these in a padded, nondescript, unmarked envelope with a tracking number. I had forgotten the company name so the return address wasn't familiar to me. I honestly thought that I or one of my clients had been sued or hit with a subpoena and that I was being served with the court papers (I'm an attorney so that's my first thought at getting an ominous-looking mystery envelope), so I held my breath as I opened it.
This is one of the coolest pleasant surprises I've ever received in the mail.
Come to think of it, I do remember that the ticket package info said it included physical tickets in addition to e-tickets, but I pretty much forgot about that because who really cares as long as you get a valid e-ticket for a reserved seat? Now that I've received them, it actually feels pretty good to have them. And I'm glad they waited until after the game to send them, because otherwise I would have taken them with me to the game and probably gotten them crumpled up or something.

Row 1. Richie Rich over here!
/those are badass, in all seriousness!
February 27th, 2024 at 9:13 PM ^
lol... That actually wasn't our section or row. I think it's a reference to the date.

Excuse me sir but I think you are in my seat! Those look beautiful now Ive got to figure out how us common folk find those!

You can order them from the site. I received mine that I ordered the other day.

What year is this?

They look great. Just wish they had actual seat numbers. Would have made it 10 times better.
February 27th, 2024 at 9:19 PM ^
Same! I was really disappointed at first.
I only just realized it's the date of the game, but my seat number would have been preferred.
February 27th, 2024 at 9:19 PM ^
Think there was an option to add the section and seat number (at least, mine did). Either way, they are awesome!

Was yours through OnLocation or directly from the Rose Bowl? I don't remember ever getting asked or submitting a preference

I ordered through an email that came directly from the Rose Bowl. There's an option to purchase souvenir tickets through the end of this month, and you can specify your tunnel, section, and seat number for your individual ticket. You can also add the lucite case for $20.
I'm terrible at links, but here's the website I ordered from: https://directfulfillment.wwlinc.com/PasadenaTOR/Orders/New

As I recall, you didn’t have to go to the game to order a pair of printed tickets.

ticket replica $12
plus .72, that's right, 72 cents, for "shipping"
:)
just looking at it will bring a smile to my face
forever

That makes sense then. The OnLocation ones were included as part of the original ticket purchase, so there wasn't any additional place to make a choice regarding what gets printed on the ticket.
Oh well.

I got an ominous looking envelope too a couple of days ago that made me nervous. Thankfully it was the Rose Bowl ticket I had ordered.
I got he ticket through a site that someone on MGOBLOG posted. It wasn't through On Location. I had the option of paying a little extra and putting my real tunnel number, row and seat number.
A friend of mine got tickets that say 1 1 24. That seems to be the generic one.
They do look nice.

Any recommendations on dirt cheap (read: using stuff lying around the house) on how to protect it? More concerned about protection than a fancy display.

A small frame with like a felt backing?

This might be obvious, but if you or your kids are into comic books or cards (*), then a comic book case or a card holder should do the trick.
(*) Are kids still into those kinds of things, or have the TikSnapGrams taken over their attention spans?

Pokémon cards are definitely popular where we are. I’ve been repurposing the hard cases from my worthless baseball card collection for my daughter’s more valuable finds.

The plastic displays are like $10 on Amazon. Not dirt cheap but pretty cheap

I like the generic football player art

Funny, that's what I don't like about it. Looks slightly psu-ish. Sell the tickets in pairs and put a bama player on one and Michigan on the other.

My guess is that they have some excessively risk-averse lawyers who told them to keep the artwork generic to avoid an NIL lawsuit.
That or their graphic designers are just lazy.

I read that from GP as sarcasm. Text is bad at conveying intent.

My first thought was "Oh, look it's Charles Woodson in his Oakland uniform. That's weird".

I haven't received my official replicas from the Natty, but i'll post photos when they arrive!

I received my natty replicas and they look great. Very pleased with them. I also got the lucite mount and while it’s $10 more than buying a lucite magnet brick on Amazon, the one they supply fits the ticket perfectly. It’s all very well done.

I got a National Championship ticket from the athletic department as thanks for being a season ticket holder. It was quite unexpected but has gone up on my bookshelf in a prominent place.

Looks fascinating.

Still a little annoyed that we have to go these lengths for a physical ticket to games, they are the best souvenirs. I repurposed a frame from around the house to display the last year of physical season tickets, plus ordered BIG10 and National Championship tickets since they only offered digital for the actual games.
February 28th, 2024 at 9:22 AM ^
How?? ugh. i wanted those so badly for the National title game (with my seats, ideally). Instead of the stupid digital ticket. Any ideas from anyone on how to get? I'm sure its too late

I now have a ticket for both the Alabama game, and Washington game ordered and on the way! Thanks to the links that others provided in comments :)

I think I was expecting an actual ticket, with my actual seat number on it, so I was disappointed. Still looks nice I guess, definitely something worth keeping in a keepsakes box to remember, but not as awesome as I thought they were going to be. Either way its a bonus, as I wasn't even expecting this since i purchased tickets on the secondary market.

I got a simple acrylic case from Bezos-Mart ($14)
Saved a few bucks compared to the one that the offered by Direct Fulfillment and fit the tix nicely
