Notably, he plays with Jadyn Davis and a couple other wideouts on Michigan's radar.

I can dig it.

I agree with this- thought the same watching it live and on replay. It looked like he decided to make a business decision and funnel Coleman back because he had cavalry arriving. Does Coleman score if he breaks a tackle there? Hard to say but you can almost see DJ make the call to play him off and deal with the yards rather than risk a whiff and let him gallop down the sideline.

Honestly, I'm floored by this. Kudos to both staffs for not only burying the hatchet but completely changing the trajectory of the relationship, because there is a 0% chance Crowell comes out and dispels those rumors if this happened a year ago.

Hope that AA catches on somewhere and makes a name for himself. Sounds like this could be a win-win-win situation if he can make it happen.

Caveat: only was able to…

Caveat: only was able to watch the second half. That said, takeaways:

-T-Will could be the x-factor. Great energy, looked great on D (stayed in front of his man, forced them into bad decisions/TOs), and hit some big shot on the other end. He looked ready to take up the mantle of "Michigan player who gets under the skin of everyone associated with the opponent."

-Liked Devante's vision on the floor. Made a couple of passes that really impressed.

-Bench depth will be huge late in the season. Loved to see JH roll everybody out and really see what he had to work with.

-LOTS to be done on perimeter defense. Thought rotations looked bad the whole half and the gave up a ton of wide open looks. This is pretty much expected with the amount of unseasoned guys out there, and I fully expect it to improve.

-Hunter/Eli are known qtys, didn't disappoint.

All in all, good W. Buffalo is going to be one of those teams you don't want to draw round 1 if they perform as expected in MAC play.

Devin Gardner spoke on that…

Devin Gardner spoke on that a bit, essentially saying "Michigan doesn't have the best defense, but playing against your defense in practice > playing WMU and if you can't beat WMU without those wrinkles, you're in trouble".

I know how this has played out in the past, I'm just saying that everything that has been said about Cade and his football IQ and feel for the game gives me optimism that this won't feel like Shea or Milton running the offense.

I'm hoping it is just that:…

I'm hoping it is just that: keeping Cade in bubble wrap if you don't need to bust out the QB runs. Optimistic take: the "fake reads" still let Cade see the play as it would develop and he will identify when to go when it's all B1G and live bullets.

If the "fake reads" are truly fake, it'd be disheartening. For now, I believe the offense will get the green light and take advantage of those reads against more dangerous opponents.

Great UFR - one note, looks…

Great UFR - one note, looks like you posted the Haskins TD run instead of Bell's TD catch on the second TD drive.

MKE resident here, was in the Bradley Center for some not-great basketball Giannis' first year (Bucks won more playoff games this year than they did the regular season that year). The shots of the Deer District were insane, and yet not as crazy as the game Giannis had with everybody not name Bobby Portis struggling to get buckets.

I don't have a lifelong connection to this team or city but it was a very cool experience to watch them close out last night against a very good Suns team. Great cast of characters and role players, and I'm happy they got to do it at home with 65,000 just outside the doors.

Final sidenote: for some reason, the 1971 Bucks never got a parade after winning the only NBA championship the city has seen. Can't wait to see them get their victory lap through the city.

Gun to my head, 2-1-5. I never got the feel that we were seeing Gattis' offense.

So you're saying the "read"…

So you're saying the "read" was more likely a design set up by...fake reads, designed keeps, and Shea never had to put 2 and 2 together? If true, disappointing.

Re: viewership, I think the largest issue is cannibalization.

There was nothing and then with a flip of a switch, there was TOO much for even the most dedicated sports fan. Even with extra screens you can't watch it all and, speaking just for myself, you get a little burnt out. Sometimes you just want to relax and watch a movie.

Interested to hear some…

Interested to hear some other opinions on this:

One 'concern' (slight, still early season yet) when discussing with a friend was Teske getting gassed thanks to the fast break that was going both way. I noticed on some of Michigan's limited FT attempts, JH pulled all four non-shooters back and set them up for half court defense.

This struck me as odd but if Michigan is going to run like they did today and be successful on both ends of the break, it's a pretty savvy move to give a quick breather to your guys since they aren't going to be a + offensive rebounding outfit anyhow. I can't say I've seen this before, any reference points or guys smarter than me that can lend some risk/reward insight?

But...they're not fair game, and that's the point. This isn't new. If Brian wants to editorialize on his platform, he can. The rule applies the way it always has, to the comments.

Seth went so far as to leave comments open for people to opine as long as it didn't get ugly, and people like the commenter above (whose contributions will be sorely missed) are mad online about a podcast that they can ignore. If people take exception to politics putting its peanut butter in their sports chocolate, they are well within their rights to stop reading and clicking- but they should understand that "no politics" is a guideline for posters and commenters in the MGo community, not creators and moderators.

For the last time, "no…

For the last time, "no politics" applies to MgoBoard and comments, not the site's creator. It is so so SO easy to not clink a link, not listen to a podcast, and not read the comments if that is what your heart desires.

Checking in, this is a very important day- all hail the alphabet man.

Between him and Barry, it was a great time to be a youngster playing backyard football in the state of Michigan.

Best worst experience of my

Best worst experience of my life. I think the sun even shined for a brief second but I remember rain, sleet, and snow throughout the game.

1995 vs. Purdue.
5-0

1995 vs. Purdue.

5-0 Michigan win with a field goal and a safety. I remember very little of actual gameplay with the exception of how sloppy it looked. The weather did everything that day and it showed on the field (how I remember it).

The parts I remember most are the Rocket Men guys with Gatorade coolers on their back filled with hot chocolate and little guns to fill cups with. I remember being able to get to the railing, had to be somewere between the 10 and 30...don't remember which end zone but a friend and I were straight up giving Purdue Pete the business. One of my best memories with my Dad and we still talk about how crappy the weather was that day.

'tis not, but Lakefront

'tis not, but Lakefront Brewery Tour (Depending on your tour guide) will have you sing along with the song while waving at the bottles going down the line.

MKE Brewery tour is an unreal bang for the buck. $10 per and all the free half-pours you can drink in like an hour time. Pay for the tour, skip said tour and mill around and drink with like-minded geniuses. Then walk across the street and get Gyro Palace for lunch.

I love Sobelmans, definitely

I love Sobelmans, definitely park on the street to avoid the (ahem) parking lot situation.

Major Goolsby's?

Major Goolsby's?

I will be at the game on

I will be at the game on Thursday (woohoo) but I can also recommend a few spots for people.

I second BBC as  Michigan-friendly, though a bit bro at times. Good beer prices, plenty of bar games as they have pool tables and darts throughout the building. Owner is a Detroit-transplant from what I've heard.

Any MKE Brewery fans will enjoy Milwaukee Ale House on at Water and Buffalo, they have only Milwaukee Brewing Co. products on tap. Decent food and fun place to watch games if you can get a pub table. Great beer obviously.

Steny's on 2nd in Walker's Point is good atmosphere for games, was there for Michigans win at the Bres this year. Loud, decent beer prices.

Kinda divey option- Brat House on Old World 3rd, just south of Highland. Giant pretzels, cheese soup...never been for basketball but I've been for Team USA games in past and enjoyed myself.

This is definitely a better

This is definitely a better way of saying it, I appreciate the clarification. As I said, I just think it's dangerous to make assumptions on the character of a teenager based on school choice and I think you agree with me there.

State has put some defensive linemen in good positions to be drafted and play (as has Michigan; Branch, Martin, Graham, etc.) and the current state of MSU's program is more than enough of a selling point I'd think for a defensive player to choose them independent of any other factors. Recruits have said though, 'it's Michigan' so I have no doubts this perception will slide back in favor of UofM.

Can't win them all, just hope for Michigan to win the next H2H.

I think the stance you take

I think the stance you take in that second paragraph is a really arrogant and borderline offensive way of looking at/explaining things. To say those things don't matter because he chose another school is ridiculous.

This assumption that choosing State or OSU over Michigan is because he doesn't want to grow into an upstanding young man is absurd, and it is absolutely why UofM's fanbase gets panned. MSU and OSU turn 17 year olds into men the same way as Michigan does, academics argument be damned.

Okay, late to the party but

Okay, late to the party but this is a pet peeve of mine and wanted to voice it.

Anytime someone cites "but but he has more errors!" and fails to take range into account, that person is ignoring the fact that he is defensively swallowing up a higher percentages of balls put in play that would effectively be seeing eye singles.

I will take a slight uptick in errors all day for a SS who controls anything from Miggy's left shoulder to second, and still can range out into the grass and make the throw to first. For every error he makes in a Tigers uniform, you are looking at 10 balls that get past Jhonny (and I love Jhonny).

I believe Sam Webb just

I believe Sam Webb just pulled a Corso on twitter and said the WR # is still at 3.

THIS

"Apart from what anyone thinks of Dan Dakich as a commentator, he knows basketball."

Such an important distinction to make- I got really fed up with him doing Michigan games this season, but the fact remains that the guy know his stuff. Even though he suffers from color-analyst syndrome at times, his huge compliment of the coaching staff is really, really something, even if they didn't need any further validation.

I disagree.

I don't think it's a dig, I think it's simply a handy measuring stick from a Michigan perspective.

People have seen Blake play and "Alex is a better player" just gives you a sense of where is skillset is at as a prospect.

Couldn't find yesterdays, but...

Wouldn't mind seeing this every 2-3 days. Strut it out pal, strut it out.

Agreed. Super flat and lost

Agreed. Super flat and lost every battle in the 2nd but first playoff game for a bunch...Andersson, Brunner, Deykeyser, Smith. I'd expect game two to play out a bit more even, playoff hockey tends to swallow up newcomers. Ducks have a pretty experienced squad and it showed, especially on the PP unit.

I think you're right. Wings

I think you're right. Wings made offer of 6 or 7MM for one year, and I believe he signed for like 8-9MM with Pittsburgh.

You down with JBB?

You down with JBB?

I like him

Doesn't have that "oh shit!" look on his face that a lot of big guys have with the ball on the floor. He can pop a 15-foot turn-around, but no otherreal-deal post moves that I can see- which is no big deal because he's 16-17 and plays against 6'4" types.

You can teach some post moves and footwork to a kid, but you can't teach 7'. I'm a believer.

Just to clarify...

...you do mean as a slot WR playing with Megatron and not actually throwing to hi in lieu of Matthew Stafford, correct? If so, yeah, that'd be fun to watch.

Valid point, but in this case

Valid point, but in this case i think a leader is fair. It's his 'hometown' school where his family can see him in every home game without a flight. He can visit his family on off days no problem. I don't think it's a stretch to say that the school he's been most comfortable with, and the coach he has the best coach-player relationship with to date is leading.

I do agree about the quotes

I do agree about the quotes bit, some of the things he has been saying indicate some degree of "over-the-moon"-ness.

I'm not trying to be a jerk

I'm not trying to be a jerk so apologies if that comes across, but I think most writers have Hand as a VT lead because VT actually is the team to beat in his recruitment. Hometown, Bud Foster and so on. Michigan is doing well to even be in the conversation but it's still VT in front.
