- Maybe we could get the Black Eyed Peas to write a new fight song! Recruits would love it and we could probably make extra cash on iTunes for new ATHLETIC FACILITEEZ!
- Instead of touching a banner, get CNN to create a hologram banner that the players virtually touch on the way in.
- Replace Carl Grapentine with that Daquon guy!
- Replace Frank Beckmann and Jim Brandstatter with the Olsen twins.
- Who needs a marching band? Just pipe in music! (wait, what?)

Thanks for acknowleding one of my points. Unfortunately, the majority of charter schools are not bound to your wife's school's standards. To my other points--Is your wife in a union? Does she receive the same benefits as other teachers in traditional public schools? Is the school non-profit? |
| 2 weeks 6 days ago | Um...no |
Um...that's not true. |
| 2 weeks 6 days ago | Hmmm... |
This school seems great but--and this is just my opinion, based on a lifetime dedicated to public schools--charter schools are usually the worst. They self-select the best available kids and trumpet their success, never acknowledging that they removed the cream of the crop from traditional public schools and left the problematic kids behind (thus not really "closing the gap"). Teachers are typically paid less (most charter schools are non-union) and have fewer rights. Many charter schools (I can't speak for this one) are for-profit, and therefore beholden to corporate investors, rather than the good of all kids. I could go on-and-on but, suffice it to say, I'm very wary of supporting charter schools. To the OP-- I may be TOTALLY wrong about your school. Perhaps (as Ezeh asks above), your school as taken steps to make sure you include a more representative group of students. Perhaps you allow your teachers to unionize and offer competitive payment and benefits. Perhaps you are a non-profit charter. I couldn't find info on any of those things on the website so feel free to correct me. But at first glance, I would be wary of supporting this cause. |
| 16 weeks 1 day ago | I'm used to it |
I went to middle school in Ann Arbor during the Fab Five era. I was the only one rooting for Calbert Cheaney and Alan Henderson. That was miserable. Wow, I feel like I'm in a confessional. |
| 16 weeks 1 day ago | 88-84 IU |
88-84 IU The only game of the year where I cheer against UM. My parents went to IU and I was raised to be a Hoosier (at least when it comes to basketball). But I attended UM and am blue in every other way. So...conflicted... |

If Brian is done with this year's hockey team (at least in print), I don't think we'll see them featured in the banner anytime soon. |

I wonder what a close-up of his finger w/ the stache (in the place where Denard's helmet currently resumes) would look like? Anyone with photoshop skills wanna give it a whirl? P.S. I think a Lewan banner might be a nice temporary statement but I'd love to see something basketball related takeover during this seemingly groundbreaking season. |

74-48 (UM) And as an Ypsi native and UM alum, I'd just like to point out that the Corner Brewery is the coolest place to drink (indoors or outdoors) in Washtenaw County. Also the Shadow Art Fair is much cooler than Ann Arbor's middle-aged, bloated affair.

"Parade" is too kind. "Clown show," maybe? |
| 22 weeks 2 days ago | "Football will still be football" |
"Football will still be football." That would be nice. Unfortunately, it's becoming NASCAR with a side order of NBA fan experience!!! |
| 22 weeks 2 days ago | "other 11 games?" |
So we're only doing alternate uniforms once a year?! That's awesome. Thanks for this welcome breaking news. I had no idea the Brandon was making a drastic departure from his traditional practice of using alternate uniformz at least 3 times a year. |
| 22 weeks 2 days ago | Oh god... |
The "support the troops" argument. This has nothing to do with criticizing the players. It has everything to do criticizing the leadership. (Commence: "but the kids love the crazy new stuff"-- STFU--Alabama and USC disagree.) |

Are you talking to us?

| 22 weeks 2 days ago | It's not about whether they |
It's not about whether they look good or not. The question is: Do they look like Michigan Football? The answer is no. (BTW- I'm even willing to tolerate this once a year, but anything more is a clown show) |
| 22 weeks 5 days ago | Whatever, man. |
Whatever, man. I'm not talking about "kinds of people." I'm talking about myself. This thing I love has colors attached to it. Now that color is highlighter yellow and I'm blinded by it in crowds and on courts. Now the gods I worship where bumblebee costumes. Just win, I guess. I'm going to eat some chips.

| 22 weeks 5 days ago | Why do you hate me Dave Brandon? |
Dear Dave Brandon, Why do you hate me? I care about your product (Michigan Football) more than any 34-year-old probably should. I'm a lifelong fan and an alum. I attend games. I cherish memories of Harbaugh and Morris, Desmond's "the catch," Biakabatuka's 313 yds. vs. Ohio, Mercury Hayes vs. Virginia, Woodson vs. everyone, Brady in 2000 Orange Bowl, Marquise Walker's catch vs. Iowa, Perry vs. MSU, Braylonfest, Manningham vs. Penn St, Tate and Denard vs. ND. In other words, I'm fully invested. I live for this. It seems like you care more about people who are not like me. Sincerely, Beantown Blue P.S. This is not just about the uniformz.

We don't need any insurance plan, celebrity QB's son on this team. What good could that possibly do? |

The shoes make us look like Baylor. The shorts make us look like a middle school. (I like the jerseys, btw) |

That picture of corn comes from the first page of a google image search for "maize." There are lots of pictures of corn the same color. Nothing close to the highlighter color on the front page of that search. When people think of maize, they think of this kind of corn, not corn that you buy in the store (which is brighter but still not close to the highlighter color above). |

If the Louisville Cardinals can be Orange, we should be just fine with green. That's right, our brand is as strong as Louisville.

35 - 24, Michigan Disappointing but a W, which is totally fine. Borges and Mattison slow play it, saving the best for State. Denard throws a pick-6. Illinois picks up another touchdown in 4th quarter, garbage time. |

| 50 weeks 1 day ago | Important Detail |
This is a small, somewhat insignificant detail but I found it incredibly important when preparing for the GRE. Being a computerized test, the GRE is adaptive, meaning it changes depending on how you do in the early stages. The way I understand it, the early questions in each section are the most important because they help place you in a range of difficulty that affects the later portions of the test. In other words, if you do really well in the early portion, the test determines that you fall, say, in the 700 - 800 range. Then it starts to give you 700 - 800 level questions and gradually narrows you into a score. Likewise, if you do poorly on the opening stages of each section, there's only so much you can do in the later section because the test has already determined you fall in the, say, 400 - 500 range and the best you can hope for is a 500. If the questions toward the end of each section are really challenging, it might be a sign that you are doing really well and the test is feeding you particularly challenging questions. That seemed to be the case for me on the verbal section. I took the test twice and did much better the 2nd time even though it felt like I was really struggling toward the end. But that was partly because I learned about the adaptive nature of the test and prepared to take much more time with the early questions and allowed myself to rush the end of each section. Caveat: I took the test 7 years ago so it may have changed. Somebody who's taken it lately, feel free to correct me if this is no longer the case. |
