Just saw this as well. Very interesting, gotta figure Michigan is in good position with the visits and the way the QB's played in the spring game. Anyone know where he was at this weekend on his final stop?

I'd be a little surprised if it was. My understanding is that Pike wants an opportunity to play early. But Georgia doesn't really provide that. Murray will be the starter for two years and then it's Pike vs. LeMay/Anyone else they recruit/is on the roster. Our situation isn't much better with DG here but that's still only 1 year of Denard then open competition.

Yeah it was more or less sarcasm, but if we don't get him I won't lose any sleep over it. Like Hoke said not everyone will choose to come to Michigan, all they can do is show them what a great place Michigan is and the opportunities that come with it.  This isn't the first big time recruit to not pick to go Blue and it won't be the last, in time we will get someone else like Pike.

Hopefully good news comes out of his decision for us. He is going to be a good QB and I would rather have him on our team than another. Could this be another piece to the Mega Class? I sure hope so.

A kid goes on numerous visits, then a rumor makes the rounds this weekend during his Auburn visit that he committed to their coaches, and then he halts his recruitment and schedules a news conference.

Fill in the blanks. This kid is likely committing to Auburn on Wednesday.

I want Pike to come but if he doesn't I'd use his spot to make sure we could take both Bolden and Ross should they both want in. Since Devin would only be a RS FR I wouldn't take a QB this year and make it even more attractive to Shane Morris next year.

...especially when you only have three scholarship quarterbacks.

I don't understand this mentality.  People want to go 4-deep at every linebacker position, and then they want to skimp on the QB position, which is the most important spot on the field, bar none.

If we take four linebackers this year, we will have 13 linebackers to fill 3 spots.

If we take zero quarterbacks this year, we will have 3 quarterbacks to fill 1 spot.

It's logic, people.  We will take a quarterback, and we SHOULD take a quarterback.

Unless we switch to a 3-4 down the road, the ratios would be essentially the same at that point. Plus QB's don't play STs.

Now that I've plaid devil's advocate, completely agree that it would be borderline fireable offense to not take a QB this year. It's not an option.

It is an option to take 4 highly rated LBs this year given our desperate need of defensive high end talent. If LB is where the talent is this year, take it and go with it. I'd rather have four 4* LBs and one 4* DT than three 4* LBs and one 4* DT + one 3* DT.

taking a *fourth* LB instead (after a loaded LB class last year) is a special kind of dumb. The same kind that led RR to fill >50% of his recruting classes with slot receiver and tweeners assigned to the "hybrid" position.

Just create a new log on already and save everyone from your over the top rants on RR as an attempt to save face for your lack of good judgement on the creation of your current one.

Edit:  Also, it would be a good time to pick an avatar that doesn't induce seizures.
