He plays again tonight to win his district and advance to regionals. They play a conference foe they’ve beat twice in the regular season. Both wins were by single digits, so no gimme.
I'm not sure what you're talking about. Maumee was pretty bad this year, they didn't even make the playoffs.
Edit: Fuck me, he plays for Maumee Valley? That makes more sense. Also makes more sense why the competition looks worse.
When Chuck Norris says Zeb Jackson plays for Maumee, Zeb immediately transfers there.
Zeb Jackson takes no prisoners.
Initially, I thought, not that awesome of a dunk. Because I was more impressed when Trey Burke used to dunk on a fast break. Saw that Zeb was 5'10", still not that awesome of a dunk, but way more impressed with that athleticism! Can't wait to see him on the court for Michigan.
Any dunk at 5'10" is impressive - This one is very impressive considering where he takes off from. Rivals has him at 6'3" so maybe he is somewhere between those heights
247 has him at 6'2" and Rivals has him at 6'3"... idk where people are getting this 5'10" number from
Zeb is 6'3''. I'm not sure where you are getting 5'10''. Still an explosive play.
He is listed all over the place--from 5'10" to 6'2". I'm assuming the 5'10" listings are dated.
LOLZ! I definitely said the athleticism displayed is impressive and I am excited to see Zeb play for Michigan. Just didn't think the dunk was "over the top amazing". I'll take the negs for it. I have to say that I do understand why people choose not to post anything contrary to the popular opinion. Am I really the only person who saw that dunk and thought "good dunk, not great"?
Straw man. No one said it was "over the top amazing"---certainly not by the time you first weighed in. So you might not be as edgy as you like to think.
I'm just negging you for using "LOLZ"
He's not 5'10. I saw him live a few weeks back, he's 6'2 atleast, probably 6'3. I sat right to the back left of the bench at court level, pretty good seat lol. Really good player
I love that highlight and can't wait for Zeb to join the team. But the kid guarding him looked like a 16 year old version of me trying to play defense.
Brian included it in his 3/6 post: Unverified Voracity Needs Otter Lawyers
Regardless, awesome video. "With authority!" -- (Marv Albert voice)
Zeb Jackson from the baseline....YESSSSS AND IT COUNTSSSSSS!
BFD, he just dunked on a team of photonegatives.
While it was an impressive dunk, the photonegatives in question appear to be quite slow on the uptake for the game of basketball. I mean, one guy was on Jackson, three others stood completely still, and the last guy was late getting there for the block. Totally unimpressed with the negative defense...
Zeb plays for a DIV team in Ohio. He mostly plays against DIV teams. I believe there are only two DIII teams in his conference. He doesn't play good competition. But it was still a cool dunk. Watch his AAU tape to see him do cool things against better competition. That goes for almost every HS basketball player unless they're at Spire or Oak Hill or some other sports centric academy.
I'm very bullish on Zeb and eager to see him play in Ann Arbor. He has all the tools. He's now up to 6'3", speedy, athletic, a great ball handler AND a great shooter. I believe he's very underrated and will be an elite college PG.
We continue filling the pipeline for point guard U
(Burke, Walton, Simpson, DDJ, Zeb)...
Don't forget Morris
From what I've heard, he's a streaky shooter, but has good shooting form that looks good for shooting upside
I believe his dad is 5’10”....played running back at BGSU...he could dunk too!
He is a nasty freaky dude. His ranking made sense when he was listed at 5'10" but he's 6'3" now with a disgusting handle. He reminds me a lot of Kyrie Irving.
Michigan's next starting point guard.
You think DDJ will play the 2 or just get passed up? I have seen nothing to indicate that he is not going to be a very good player.
I mean DDJ will be a junior when Zeb comes in. So I highly doubt a junior DDJ will get passed up by a freshman unless he's a the second coming of Trey Burke. I'm very much a fan of this "get a PG every 2 year" recruiting strategy that Beilein has developed that keeps a constant yearly rotation of experienced PGs. And he'll try and take another PG only if he really likes them (i.e. DJ Carton)

get passed? There is nothing to pass. DeJulius is Brundige 2.0.
22% from the floor and 1 for 13 from 3 to start
Could see him and DDJ in back court together, certainly. Not sure Nunez will be formidable option at the 2, but could be a spark off the bench to shoot a few threes in the future.
Don't forget about Jalen Wilson. He could very much play the 2 since Beilein is moving towards more position-less basketball
Lol -- I'm in my 50's and could guard him better than that! What was that dude thinking, anyway?
He was just named D IV player of the year in NW Ohio. Agree he is much more interesting with more skilled players around him than he has at his small school. The one game I saw came against the best competition in his conference this year (a DIII team) and I posted about in my diary about him a few weeks ago. They just double teamed him some coming up the court so he had to give up the ball then face guarded him otherwise the rest of the night to keep him from m getting the ball back and limited him to about a dozen points. He averaged around 25 per game this season I believe. . .
Holy crap that's where I went to high school lol.
Zeb’s team advances to regionals as they win their district tonight. Link to brief highlights
I was at tonight's game.
My 2 cent analysis is as follows:
MVCD doesn't really run an offense. They have sets the run through but mostly rely on athletic ability of players to make plays. Reminded me of an AAU offense. Jackson is Uber athletic, long, smooth, plays passing lanes well, really commands the floor with that team. He has no hesitation slashing to the basket. Doesn't shy away from chucking up some seriously horrific positions on the floor.
That being said, he's going be really good once M coaches have an opportunity to polish him. He possess all the tools.
