Willie Gay Ultimate Highlights ( Watch sitting down)

This kid comes in and plays significant snaps right out of the gate and likely wins the "Viper" role. Lets hope Coach Harbaugh can get this done.

If there was ever a time someone wanted to come out and be a bagman for Michigan now is the time. This kid is perfect for Don Browns defense. This guy would be an immediate impact and would be an absolute monster by his 3rd year

It's an incredible long shot but if Michigan could land Solomon and Gay to go along with Ambry and JKP in the secondary, Drew Singleton/Ross/Anthony along with Gay as linebackers, with Luiji Villain and Solomon pass rushing then Michigan would undoubetly have a championship Alabama dominant type defense a couple years down the road.

Oh God Im getting sucked into the hype again

I don't know why I thought it was a good idea to watch this video but I did.  His speed athleticism and tackling ability are ridiulous.

The thing that impressed me most though were his instincts and ability to read/disect plays.  Plus the way he just shed blocks as if they were puppets is incredibly impressive.  That is on the few occasions where the blocker was actually able to get his hands on him.

For the love of God please find a way to close on this kid!

Come on down Willie!

Of course, to really fill Pepper's shoes, he'll have to be able to assume his position in the Pepcat package. I suppose a new name will be needed for it as well...

You "made me" watch it.  Its pretty simple, tell him we will change the PepCat to GayCat.  Also just watching form tackle after form tackle.  I get it, they are highlights, but I love a guys who tackles THROUGH the ball carrier......

really enjoyed his hitting and pursuit on defense, awesome! The offensive stuff just reminded me a lot of Jabrill this season, running past and through everyone as the Wildcat QB doesn't work in college unless you can do something else. I hope they just keep him on defense full time and just let him decapitate running backs and wide receivers all day!

I stand by my assertion that Gay is just as important as Solomon. Their positions may not be equally in need but if modern CFB calls for big, athletic defenders to win, Gay is a need. Peppers comparisons are right and wrong in that he's not the absolute freak athlete JP was but he's longer so it makes sense - he's an actual LB. He was built for the Don Brown Viper (!) position. If he were 2-3 inches shorter he'd basically be JP. He covers that last 1-2 feet in a snap! Some guys stick arms out and kinda reach/limber to the tackle. Gay snaps through the tackle at 12, 3, 9 etc o'clock, from a running start or no start. He's just a phenomenal player that I wish I didn't know we have a chance at unless he signs here (ha).

Are folks in the South unaware of this new invention call a tripod?

Despite the lack of high-quality videography that I demand from high school highlight tapes, I am thoroughly impressed.

Gay is the best player remaining on Michigan's board, IMO. He's the second-most important because we need a nose tackle, but Gay is a really good player who I think would probably start from day one.

I have seen Willie Gay play from the sidelines and he was impressive. My youngest son was the honorary team captain for Starkville High School in their home game against Clinton last year. His play stood out as impressive behind AJ Brown who had multiple 70+ yard TD receptions. I remember him being fast and hitting hard. He always seemed to be around the ball.

My step-daughter will graduate along side Willie Gay this spring. I am a longtime resident of Starkville and have been a member of the Mississippi State University faculty for 14 years. For all of these connections, I have heard nothing and have no insider information. The little bit I have heard from the Mississippi State football program and fans indicates that they hope to land him, but they are not sure of his intentions.

I have been talking about him since the summer when he was on practically no ones radar. I talked about this kid constantly until finally others started saying his name. His Junior season highlights were crazy. Then to see him as a senior also playing QB and nearly winning it all, I couldn't believe how athletic this kid was. The best part of it all, is that he has liked us for a long time and he has made it abundantly clear.

I think we need to stay on his family and continue to convince him that he will be playing along side of the best future pro's, with the best coaches and connections in the game. Convince him that the spot Jabrill played has his name written all over it., and he will be a bigger star here than anywhere else. Show his parents examples of the upstanding, articulate student athletes that become men at Michigan and they will not think twice when compared to less-than refined student athletes at LSU or Miss. State.

I'm claiming it, he's BLUE

People around the interwebs are saying Jacob Phillips flipping to LSU is actually a bad thing. Phillips and Gay are supposedly close and visited LSU together

This is going to be tough as hell to pull Willie out of the south

I refuse to watch his highlights.  I don't want to get my hopes up too much-- especially since we are dealing with LSU and the other SEC clowns.  He would be a perfect fit for Don Brown's defense and become a star in it.

I watched it....I should not have, but I did.

Should have waited till he signed with Michigan before watching the video.

You have been warned people!
