Wifey Weekend

Submitted by BernardC on
Just a public service reminder that the wives/GFs rule the day this weekend. I for one appreciate that the wife is considerate enough to put up with my obsession and even act like she cares when we get a recruit (I remember her watching the Derrick Green commitment press conference from her desk). So come on guys! Let's give them their day and bust our butts this weekend. They are worth it!

Thankful the bye week came when it did. We're going down to Captiva this weekend to be with family and since I don't see many of them very often, the last thing I want to do is spend all day glued to the TV.

The wifey and I are heading off to Ruidoso, NM to do some hiking and relaxing. I'm excited to finally enjoy some Fall weather. I'll still be watching college football Saturday afternoon at some local watering hole.

In our house, I'm the crazy obsessed one so this weekend actually gives my husband a break from my Michigan football insanity.  This Saturday happens to be Yom Kippur, so I will be in temple and fasting - my own personal version of improvement week.

a few weeks ago that marriage is in major decline, young guys aren't getting married anymore.

So I guess that bodes well for our collective future, right?

I'm lucky.  My wife is as sad as me that Michigan football is on hiatus this week.    But it's her birthday, so that takes the edge off.   We'll celebrate while watching Ohio State-Rutgers.

I feel bad for all you guys and gals that have to deal with a significant other that doesn't like or understand sports. My wife is pissed we are going to my brother's house 2 hours away becuase it will cut into the noon slate of games.

home...alone...in air conditioning...with a diet sprite as i will be taking our two sons to South Bend to watch the Irish pummel the Miami Redhawks with my ND fan father.  He's paying for the tickets, the gas, and the hotel accommidations, and both boys (8 & 5) know we cheer for UM first and foremost (both ahve also been to Ann Arbor for a game and enjoyed it immensely).  If this trip helps to ensure a second favorite team that isn't Ohio State (we live in Dayton) then all the better.

Fiancé is good about leaving me alone during saturdays in the fall. Unfortunately, she knows it's a bye week. She volunteered me to go to an OSU vs Rutgers watch party at my future in-laws.

I'm taking my son for his college visit to Denison, so I'm happy to hear that Ohio State is playing at Rutgers. The last thing I need is to battle scarlet and gray traffic. As an aside, my husband, an M fan but not an alum, said if our son ends up going to Denison, he will not fly into Columbus (after seeing the airport filled with Ohio State paraphernalia). Instead, he's going to fly into Cleveland and drive two hours to Granville. Can you blame him?

I will be hanging out at the ARtic rink all day with my family.  unlike usual weekends I won't be continually checking my phone.  so that will be nice.

Concordia University is now ranked 21st in the NAIA coaches' poll. They have a game this Saturday at 1 pm. It only costs $5.

It's not Michigan football, but it's college football.

as she allows me to watch UM football without disturbing me. Just asks me what time the game is on and then leaves me alone during the game. We are actually going to visit our daughter at her school this weekend. She has a fall softball game and then watch her schools football team in the afternoon, so spend time with the family.

I will start off the weekend hauling up bricks onto the roof and replacing the chimney.... And it will be my birthday!  But on the bright side I will probably lose a few pounds.

FYI the wife wants new bricks instead of reusing the old.  Hence the task of hauling of 120 bricks to the second level.

If I told my wife she "had the weekend", she'd punch me in the dick for being condescending.  It will actually be relaxing to just be able to watch football without worrying about the outcome, though.

I never got married, but I don't want to be left out. Does anyone have a wife I can borrow for the weekend? Preferably one that is hot, and that has an open mind sexually.
