Why Michigan will win 10 games in 2015- KC Joyner

Article on 10 reasons why Michigan gets to 10 wins.

Edit:

Sorry didn't realize the content was paywalled.  The article focuses on our solid defenese with their returning starters and how we should be able to force more turnovers this year (a category we did very poorly in last year but both DJ Durkin and Harbaugh can coach well). Also, it mentions how we have recruited well so we have skilled players, and Harbaugh being the motivator that he is should be able to get a lot out of them.

Oops - hit the wrong key...wasn't finished expressing how excited I am about a NYC trip to see the Maize and Blue in new Yankee Stadium.

I guess it's wrong of me to hope we win 7 games instead of 10 just because that might get us into the Pinstripe tho, huh?!

Eh, we'll probably end up in whatever they call the Alamo Bowl now. I've been to San Antonio once, that was enough. I'm still POd about F*g up those laterals...

In the comments section I hazed a Deacon.  Because he was pushing his Notre Dame-based, bullshit agenda.

Yes, I am that guy (but WHO IS THAT DEACON?).

9-10 wins is perfectly plausible if:

-the O line continues on it's line of progression as it finally seemed to be late last season.

-limited INTs come from the QB position.

We'd also need to exceed expectations at RB, WR and, especially, DE. I can't escape the feeling that the lack of a pass rush is going to hurt us. For such a DL-centric staff, the previous regime sure did supply us with a remarkably meh group of edge rushers.

a bit of a shitty year.  Not cancer, shitty, but not great either.

The universe owes me a good football season.  So not only are we going to win at least 9 games, we're going to beat both OSU and MSU.  And one of those wins is going to be a curb stomping.

I don't know anymore. After reading some stuff at rivals I'm ready to downgrade my opinion. Seems like Harbaugh was stunned at how pussy soft this team was after the first practice. Seems like Hoke really gave up on discipline the last year trying to save his ass.

The talent is certainly there to do it, but I'm trying to not look too much through my maize colored sunglasses. The coaching is there to do it as well, but a LOT has to happen for Michigan to win 10+ games.

-The O-Line has to live up to its recruiting billing and finally start coming together. There's too much pure talent amongst all of those guys to keep getting shoved around by the likes of Rutgers, Maryland and Minnesota.

-The run game has to pick up, and someone has to emerge from the group. Although to be fair, the run game's struggles are very directly related to the O-Line's struggles.

-Need a pass rush. It wouldn't matter if we somehow had the best secondary in America. If we can't get to the QB, our defense will be mediocre at best.

-Someone in the wideout group needs to step up. All we've got right now who is a proven player is Butt. Darboh, Canteen, Chesson, Bunting, anyone. Someone needs to step up and make plays.

-QB play. What else is there to say that hasn't been said already? We need someone who can cut down drastically on all the turnovers we've become used to over the last few years. Our QB does not need to be a hero this year. Just someone who makes smart decisions with the football, moves the chains, and does not turn the ball over.

Again, the talent and coaching is there to win football games, but there's way too many unknowns right now for me to sit there and definitively say this team will win 10 games.

Go forward we will have dozens of such prediction articles.  The ethos is simple - those who speak of 10+ wins and a premier bowl have "nailed it".  Those who predict 7 wins and perhaps 8 are clueless and just don't understand the power of Harbaugh.  Now go forward and enjoy the next 3 months.
