Who will start at QB for Michigan State?

Submitted by blueblue on

Mary had a little lamb, it's fleece was white as snow. And either of them could start at quarterback for the Spartans on Saturday.

(This didn't turn out right last time we tried it, but it was fun, so let's do it again.)

Begin.

From yesterday, our buddy graham couch believes he caught a hint from the Spartan press conference that it will be Lewerke getting the start, but I'm sure both plus terry may see time

It'll be Lewerke for a while. Then O'Connor will come in after Lewerke is ineffective. O'Connor will chuck up long incompletions. Then Lewerke will come back in.

if he is available. Starting Lewerke against this D would be a very poor decision on his part, asking him to make those quick reads against Don Brown's defense is asking for trouble. However, Coach D has been making weird decisions all season. Lewerke could legitmately live in a shell the rest of the season, I would imagine his confidence would sink to an all time low if this games becomes the beatdown that many have predicted.

O'Connor was hurt vs. Maryland and won't be 100%. Damion Terry also injured his hand vs. Maryland.

Besides O'Connor is a huge risk running the ball as he does, taking sacks and with his high INT ratio.  But I agree he is far and away the best thrower on the MSU roster.

So it's probably gonna be Lewerke starting.

That's Brian Lewerke.

No. 14.

Redshirt freshman QB (PS#28 QB according to Phil Steele)

His friend in the photo is senior Northwestern DE Ideafi Odenigbo

Yeah... you're gonna have a bad time Brian.

Mad dog in the morning show had MLive beatwriter for MSU on this morning and said Damion Terry and O'Connor are injured and it will probably be Lewerke again.

Evidently, if I understood him properly, O'Connor is in the worse shape of the two so he seemed to be really surprised if O'Connor started.  take that for what it's worth.

like it didn't matter.  They toyed with the idea that they might even put in DeWeaver and burn his redshirt,

but then they seemed to discuss whether or not they should jeopardize the long term for the sake of trying to provide the best chance of winning.

I honestly can't think of a time when Staee has ever offered such a concession before a Michigan game.  They'be been comparing the current state of affairs with the Muddy Watters era of the early 1980's
