It isn't just that an agent will know the financial and legal sides of deals, it also is because an agent can buffer you from the front office. For instance an agent can get angry and demand a higher pay while insulating the player from any backlash. This way Suh can say, "It's not me that wants to holdout, I'm just doing what my agent told me to do....," so that when Suh does get a contract by either the Lions or another team, he can report to camp with a smile on his face and be accepted by his team.

The Xcel is in Saint Paul. I know that Twin Cities are one and the same to most people, but as a MInnesotan I choose to nitpick this.

it will remain a coincidence next year when Michigan wins the regular season title.

of his press conference at the combine and wish him good fortune. His answers were awesome. I remember one along the lines of "If they want me to get bigger I will, if you want me to get sexier..." and almost snorted out my water.
Also, I didn't know he heard of the jokes about him flying, major props for being a good sport about it.
I don't know if many of the people here on Mgoblog think about this, but at the end of the day, we are all human and I fear that the comments we make about individual athletes might hurt them. While yes they are public figures and as such as they are out in the spotlight and so they will get more attention than I did while at college, I hope that any negative attention they receive doesn't adversely affect them. I root for Michigan in all athletics (focusing primarily on football), but don't want to unnecessarily and cruelly bash athletes from MSU, OSU, or other schools. I shudder to think of what I would have felt receiving the comments I see at many sites (MgoBlog is much better than many other fan blogs, in my humble and biased opinion) Of course, they also may have tougher skin than I had when i was their age.

glad that this wasn't a live gun. Also am happy that MSU's procedures put in place to lock-down and notify everyone is working well.

A bunch of college students didn't have class due to the snow and so took the opportunity to have a snowball fight. No problem with that.
Then they started pelting them at cars, I have a problem with that. These things happen though.
Then they stand in the street so a car can't leave and start heaving snowballs at it. In addition they dump buckets of snow at the car. When the man in the car, a retired professor, steps out of his car to confront them. A bucket of snow is dumped inside his car. This has gone past good taste and instead can be very dangerous.

At her VIP box, I doubt she was serving them bottled water and soft drinks. Does anyone buy that alcohol is not served at the president's box?

have an idea if any of this relates to the time he spent as an intern for a private equity firm during the lockout?
The impression I get of the NFL is that coaches don't want a player that isn't 100% into football unless they happen to be an absolute stud. Since a kicker is considered replaceable, any thoughts from a coaching staff that someone isn't fully interested (coupled with a mistake during play) can lead to problems.

Announced an announcement date? I recall something about late November but might be mistaken.

Started, I posted a link as soon as I realized I forgot to, but by then it was buried...if you read a few posts down you can see that I posted a link, but here is the original link.

I meant to link an article, this is just the first article I saw on this but there are many more.

I would take Spurrier's side, but the man seems to take calling out his players as a coaching tactic.
|22 weeks 3 days ago||Crazy background story||
I looked it up, and I believe that this is now my favorite non Brown Jug trophy. Love the history, especially as it was an era when Minnesota was actually good.
|22 weeks 3 days ago||Very nervous||
For this game. Being from Minnesota and living in Minnesota, I am extremely nervous whenever we play Minnesota. I still have bad memories from 2005.
|22 weeks 3 days ago||Best trophy||
Best trophy after the Brown Jug in my opinion is the Platypus Trophy. Because it is of a frickin' platypus.

Adam Weber was my high school quarterback and I don't recall us throwing it anywhere near as much.

Plus it is a newer sport, which means that brand new programs can find it easier to compete (my speculation). Whereas with hockey, there are programs that have been there for a long time, with established histories. The Beanpot is a fantastic tradition.

If they are in a position to play for the B10, or need him against us, I'm fairly confident we will be reading about how he has changed and worked hard and since he's a kid, he deserves a second chance to play. And by play, I mean start.

Wow, that's likely below their average possession rate.
