Them walking out after losing to Wisconsin will impact how NBA teams look at them. One of them made a very dumb comment at the post-game press conference.
|7 weeks 3 days ago||Former Rutgers coach||
Mike Tice taught his 12 year old daughter's team, and the parents of the other girls support him. Just because he's been great to you doesn't mean that he is great to his athletes. Of course, he could be, but just saying that what we see or know about people isn't necessarily who they are.

and unless you know more than it is being reporting, all judgements should be reserved. Yes there are coaches that yell, but my guess is that was just something the reporter highlighted.
Also, someone mention meeting the coach and finding him likeable and funny. Mike Rice (former Rutgers men's basketball coach) was fired for being an absolute jackass of a coach, and parents of a youth league that he coached in supported him. Just because they come across as great to some doens't mean that they aren't creeps or pigs or bad people. This coach may well be a great person and this is overblown, but until I hear more, I won't pass judgement.

Is that wouldn't any reasonable person step in to stop this? I imagine that if this happened in the quad, some bystander would have intervened. This is in the south, where I've heard that men are supposed to be gentlemen. If two guys are yelling at a women in my presense, I believe I would step forward.

On this 17 year old and 18 year old, so of course they may do things like this. I don't know enough about Chris Warren, but perhaps he was torn between the two programs and couldn't decide.

But I have some questions about the 'dead period,' between December 15th and January 15th. Are there any exceptions to this rule?
I'm guessing there are exceptions if the potential recruit is related to a coach, but what if they are family friends? What is the recruit's family had a trajedy, could a coach reach out to them? With the NCAA regulatons, I don't know where they might possibly draw the line. I remember reading about how it was ok to give the recruit a bagel, but a violation to also offer them cream cheese to put on it. During the NFL lockout (not NCAA, duh), a coach was fined for calling one of his players to congratulate them for becoming a father (I believe the coach said that the fine was money well-spent).

Are players required to be available to answer questions? I would love for him to just show up with a copy of Thomas Paine's "The Crisis," and just read it until his timer went off.
|14 weeks 1 day ago||I don't know||
Isn't there a Michigan target that blasted Wisconsin due to being misled about the admission standards, in that he was told, 'do X, Y, and Z, and you'll be cleared," but did above that and then was told that he still wouldn't qualify? I don't know enough about Wisconsin's standards to judge at all.

Unpunished you mean being suspending for a bowl game, the very next game, then yes he was unpunished. Man, I would hate to see what you consider to be punishment.
|16 weeks 4 days ago||Yeah||
But I think the Colts understand the value of a veteran backup with starting experience, at least they should after they were caught having Curtis Painter as their backup...

Mr. Garner. I wish you well, and hope all the best for you. During your years at Michigan you were a class act and will be missed.

Chris Christie without the bridge?
|25 weeks 5 days ago||I agree||
With the notion of him getting a plea deal and facing a fine, but no additional time away from football. He is a first-time offender, and hopefully has learned what not to do when discliplining your kids. In addition, hopefully this will be a wake-up call for many parents in how they handle their children.
|26 weeks 2 days ago||Couple reasons||
a. Looks better to the boosters
b. Avoids pissing him off, as much as I don't like DB, he is a great fundraiser and would like him to have some capacity in this, I just don't want him to doing anything else for Michigan.
c. Less messy
|26 weeks 2 days ago||Unless||
Something absolutely horrendous happens, I can't see them firing BH until after the season. I imagine that an interim AD isn't going to be wanting to make such a huge decision, so I suspect that finding an AD will come first.
|26 weeks 2 days ago||I know||
that I shouldn't compare myself to this, but if I had such a buyout offer, I would be very happy to "resign."

|27 weeks 3 days ago||Question||
Is Lewan a loose cannon?
I respect his athleticism and his awesome career here at Michigan, but it feels like some day we will be reading about him facing arrest in the near future.
I dont know the particulars of this case, but there is also the story of him allegedly threatening a rape victim. I don't know if there additional incidents (I consider the Will/Tom Gholston situation to be a non-story).
|28 weeks 4 days ago||I didn't intrepret it as such||
But rather avoiding a kiss of death, if Ross said anything that wasn't full-support for DB, that would be the end. He didn't make an irrational statements like, "If DB is fired I'll ____," but rather said something along the lines of, 'DB is a great DB."
In the days after the loss to Minnesota, things were still unsettled, and I don't think Ross said anything out of line, he was going to be asked for his opinion as he is our biggest alumni donor.

Been at war with Eastasia!
|30 weeks 10 min ago||I like him||
I don't know if he would be well suited for an environment like Michigan (where you win or perish), but I do like this coach a lot. He is respectful, passionite, and expects his athletes to be leaders off the field. While he has exceeded the expectations of Northwestern, fans here likely won't be as patient.

Texas would be far higher on this list.

That corporate executives understand and they are: Negative PR and decreased sales.
This is happening, don't think for a second that Brandon is worried shitless.
You don't put out a press release at 1 am unless you either need to get something out right away, like when something happened at 12:30, or you are trying to forstall the print media for another day. Guess which situation his actions appear to be?

When he has two sprained ankles. Wonder if he becomes medically cleared to play the same time as his suspension has been lifted? That said, anyone know how long it normally takes a football player to recover from two ankle sprains?

The effect that referee error plays into matches. During the confederations cup the head referee looks liked he was worried about being lynched on his way to the airport. The crowd looked angry at times and towards the 60th minute I felt he was gifting calls to Brazil. I don't gamble on sports but if I were to place a wager, I would take Brazil against the field.

If someone is willing to take the time to file a claim under the FOIA for the responses? Would be funny to see.
