What happened to T. Rob's playing time?
Does anyone know what happened to Terrence Robinson's playing time? He played early in the year and I thought had had some reasonable success, but then he didn't seem to play at all in the last 2/3's of the year. Did he get in trouble? Hurt? Just passed up on the depth chart? I honestly thought he played fairly well in the time he got and then he just seemed to vanish.

Grady made some big catches when he was in there, so I'd bet that's why T Robinson didn't play more.

get it; drop. I know bad pun, but seriously, too many drops have limited his time.

I don't get it.

Yeah I'm with you.

I was trying to reply to the title of his post; what happened to t-robs playing time?...it dropped.
Poor execution on my part.

I'd say that you "droped" the ball on this one, eh?

Well done.

Not that I know what they are, but in this context, I am sure I hate them!

Lets save jokes for good ones

When Odoms got hurt, they moved T Rob to outside receiver and got caught behind junior and stonum ( i guess jeremy and stokes were better at outside)

It seems like RR chose Gallon over TRob (namely kick returns). Not sure why, but you're right, he did make some big catches early on in the year. The specific one I remember was the fake run to slant over the middle where it went for like 60 yards.

Actually, that was his only catch of the year.

Catch and run it was. How would Howard Cosell describe it?
December 9th, 2010 at 10:46 AM ^
He actually had a decent catch and run on a screen pass late in the ND game, but it got called back on a penalty

IIRC, Dileo got a couple snaps at slot against OSU... and not T. Rob.
I think T. Robinson is 5th string now (Roundtree, Gallon, Grady, Dileo, T. Rob)
Not a good sign for future playing time in 2011

a player, but it seems that Gallon has made more than his fair share of mistakes out there and on a consistent basis...
December 9th, 2010 at 10:40 AM ^
Granted I prefer to not see back deep anymore especially on punts.
December 9th, 2010 at 10:48 AM ^
Yeah I agree. Gallon did pretty decent playing at slot but when it came to returning punts / kicks, not so much.
December 9th, 2010 at 10:56 AM ^
Gallon made some nice plays on offense, so no reason not to want to see him keep playing at the slot. But yeah, in the return game I'd like to see more of Dileo and less of Gallon. Dileo looks like a natural back there fielding kicks.
December 9th, 2010 at 8:08 PM ^
as it is at punt returner.

What's the Dileo?

On the same note; did Isaiah Bell die or something?
he is like the forgotten man.

Bell came in as a safety, and has always been on D.

Looking back, I'm quite amazed that TRob (#9) was rated ahead of LaMichael James (#12) and Sam McGuffie (#10) among All-Purpose Backs in the 2008 recruiting class.

by the recruiting services. I guess they didn't know about his dropsies.

Well, he played quarterback in high school, so it's kind of difficult to project how successful of a running back/slot receiver he'll be when he's been a 5'8" quarterback in high school.
December 9th, 2010 at 11:28 AM ^
He just hasn't performed yet. And its not because he is young. RR has shown he will play undersized true freshmen.
Bottom line is T-Rob hasn't got it done on the field.
December 9th, 2010 at 12:15 PM ^
He played early in the year and I thought had had some reasonable success
Huh? He caught one pass this season.
December 9th, 2010 at 12:18 PM ^
and that was it.
He had a hell of an injury his freshman year, and like Vincent Smith, probably hasn't been the same in terms of speed, etc.
Michigan's depth chart at slot and WR has crossed the border from "ridiculous" into "ludicrous"
The competition is only going to increase with Ricardo Miller, Je'Ron Stokes, Jeremy Jackson and Jerald Robinson plus the incoming frosh battling for playing time.
T-Rob is one of my favorite players. He'll be a RS So. next year I believe, so there's plenty of time to see more of him on the field.

If you're thinking of the pump fake to the flat then to t-rob over the middle, that play went for a lot more than 15 yards.

It was the prettiest play of the RR era, but was quickly replaced by the Denard fake-run TD pass to Roundtree against ND.
