Michigan AD Manuel has already noted the need to renovate the Wolverines FB weight room, another possible move is expanding Tom Brady's TB12 sports therapy center, "Tom Brady is very important to us and, if he has some ideas conceptually that will be able to help us and move us forward and help our student-athletes, then I’m definitely going to have that conversation with him. And we have that conversation with many others to find out if there’s a way to provide to our students the things that they need to be successful. So we’ll continue to do that." - link

I was able to get this much, without opening the link...

When Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel arrived in mid-March, his plan was to survey the athletic department landscape.

He already sees one area that needs help at U-M: The football team's weight room.

“Based on today’s standards and the things that you’re doing to create more space to train our student athletes,” he said in a Free Press interview last week.

U-M football coach Jim Harbaugh and former interim athletic director Jim Hackettwere scheduled to take a fundraising trip to meet with donors in early February to raise money for the project.

The weight room was refurbished for $1 million when Rich Rodriguez took over in 2008, but no major changes have occurred since, other than the signage and the equipment changing when a new strength staff arrived.

Manuel hadn’t seen the weight room in awhile and saw the need for more space to be created “based on training methodology now.

“It means probably an addition … to Schembechler Hall,” Manuel said.

The sports performance aspect has been on Harbaugh’s mind and Manuel sees possibilities for expansion there as well.

“By the time you do that, then you’re create some other space and some other areas that will impact particularly sports performance, nutrition, training,” Manuel said.

Yeah, God forbid you go a whole 8 years without making another multi-million dollar upgrade to the weight room.

Can't compete without a waterfall these days.

I was pointing out that they completely ignored the things the players use. That last renovation was huge. They knocked down the walls.

Yeah it seems ridiculous that they didn't just get it all done at that time, especially given that they probably had the money to do so from Ross. And they knew it had to be done soon. They had to know. Even without the stupid arms race about workout facilities, it should have been obvious

I'm not happy until they replace the actual weights with expresso machines and smoothie snack bars. We also need treadmills with window views and/or 60" HDTv4QED-5DSuHiPheDef screens; 2:1 TV to player ratio.

Is it possible to get Bluetooth-compatible speakers hooked up to that TV? I am looking to get rid of a set and I am willing to get myself on the donor list somehow in lieu of the ability to donate ungodly sums of money to my alma mater.

Also, asking for a friend. That's the story I am sticking to here.

I will be extremely disappointed if the school or football program associates itself or collaborates in any manner whatsoever with "TB12" and Brady's shyster/fraud/snake-oil salesman of a partner Alex Guerrero: http://deadspin.com/heres-how-tom-brady-pushes-his-sketchy-body-guru-on-peo-1735747044

Really hope this doesn't happen, and not pleased to see it mentioned as a possibility yet again.

Did not know this but I definitely always felt like TB12 looked... off for some reason. Like it didn't seem professional or legitimate. I chalked that up to poor marketing and the fact that he's an athlete and maybe doesn't know the ropes yet. But this is just weird. We can't associate with that and look like we're trying to bring players into a weird culty pseudoscience

Unfortunately, the entire field of Athletic/Performance is incredibly susceptible to fraud/scamming.

So is the entire field of Medicine/Psychology.

But, the "sports" and "body-building" aspects tend to attract quick-fixes and bro-scientists. As the universities have catered to taking as much money and confering as many degrees, instead of maintaining intellectual (which for some reason is a dirty word these days) rigor and scholarly commitment.

Would a renovation cost today if $1mm was spent 8 years ago? Even if it's double that I would think there's no prob,Em finding the money for Michigan
