He slinged it right over the plate but that was no strike; the catcher had to stand up to get to it.

I have the same problem.  I can get the angle just right but my release timing isn't consistent, so my "grouping" is basically a long, straight line parallel to my arm angle.

Of course, he can still throw a 40-yard dart with a football whereas the last time I tried to throw a spiral I think I heard the ball croak, "Kill me."

Harbaugh is too competitive to have gone out there looking like he didn't belong on the mound.  He looked like a real pitcher, at least as long as the radar gun wasn't on.  And that pitch had a bit of "mustard" on it for someone who is 51 years old.

Another job well done by Harbaugh.

My completely unreliable wild-ass guess tells me he probably touched 70mph.  He's got an NFL arm after all.

Anyway, Harbaugh is competitive past the point of insane, but I wonder if merely wanting to do well is all that unusual.  I get that it's ceremonial and most just do it for LOLs, but if I got an invite to throw a ceremonial pitch my next call would be to book time at a practice facility.  I don't need nor expect to be King Felix overnight but I'd at least not want to embarrass my family.

it still feels like a dream that JH is our coach. I mean we are so lucky to have this guy. This is going to make all of our lives so much less stressful.
