Update: Brown Predictions
So as to not let the board go devoid of hypothetical, fan-girl caterwauling for too long, here is the latest on Jaylen Brown:
Last 19 picks (!!!) have been to Michigan now, and we sit at 50% on his Crystal Ball (Kentucky is next at 26%). Of the latest picks, of note are:
Jerry Meyer, 247 Director of Basketball Scouting
Jason Marcum, Kentucky Sports Connection
Randy Newman, Big Blue Express
Ross Martin, UNC Insider
Chad Lykins and Chris Bunn, Blue Devil Lair
Also interesting is Kentucky offering a new combo forward yesterday. Shaun Kirk is a 6'7 3* SF from NC and is committed to NC State. In a trend possibly related to Jaylen's crystal ball, the last 5 picks for Kirk have him going to Kentucky. Is Kentucky scrambling for a last second option to fill the space they had saved for Brown? Does Brown not care that Coach Cal knows Drake?!? I'm sure we'll find out soon.
Edit: Instant update. PF Cheick Diallo just committed to Kansas (who is already thought to be out of the Brown sweepstakes anyways) and the UK recruiting writer for the Lexington Herald also says all signs point to Brown to Michigan.
Kenny Williams crystal balls has swung fully in favor of Virginia after an initial Michigan string...
Dear UK, Kansas, and Cal: "This was not the recruit you were looking for..."
how awkward the first four words are in that last sentence...
KU also just picked up a PF today so that seems like it would help us.
I am not excited. I am not excited. I am not excited.
I don't think the Diallo commitment affects KU's odds much at all. If anything, it may make Kansas more appealing with more talented players to play with there. Kansas still has a lot of minutes available at SF as they have not really recruited a replacement for Kelly Oubre Jr.

Go to a game there. The atmosphere is amazing. That place is sold out for exhibition games against D2 schools. Allen Fieldhouse gave me chills when I went to the game, and I don't like KU. It's an impressive place to play. A ton of their guys go to the NBA as well and they always win the Big 12. It all makes sense.
Interestingly, KU basketball has a lot of similarities to UM football in my mind (except KU has been relevant the past decade).

You want to tempt the wrath of whatever from high atop the thing?
I'm sure this is posted else where but I am far to lazy to check. Has he mentioned when he plans on announcing where he will play college ball?
Letter of intent has to be signed by May 20.
I thought no
You may be right about that. I had read that there was some sort of deadline by May 20.
The NLI is voluntary and you do not have to sign a letter to receive aid or play sports (I wish more kids realized that honestly - the NLI is a lopsided document). The signing period for basketball does end on the 20th of May this year having begun about two weeks ago, I believe. The early signing period for next year begins in November, if I remember correctly.
He had only said at the end of the month which IS IN 2 DAYS OMG ITS HAPPENING!! STAY F***ING CALM!
Could be anytime in the next two weeks, honestly.
He's kept his plans very secret until yesterday when word leaked that UCLA, Georgia, and Georgia Tech had been eliminated from his list.
I didn't see your post before I posted mine. Let's be friends.
For both being incredibly great minds.

I've had my hopes raised and then crushed by Danny DeVito before.
Except that Beilein cannot recruit blue chip athletes.
Bluechip

If Chatman had shown more in his freshman season to correspond with his high ranking (like Winslow and Jones at Duke, for example), then getting Brown or Williams wouldn't be such a high priority.
With the returning LeVert, Irvin and Walton, Chatman would be an obvious 3/4 hybrid add. Brown or Williams coming in would take serious minutes away from Chatman.
