TomVH: Quick Terry Richardson Update
If he wants to pick Michigan, he had better choose soon. These scholarships are going . . . well . . . faster than used cars at Columbus-area dealerships!
Get 'em while they're hot.
Used cars at Columbus-area dealerships are free. Michigan scholarships are earned.
He'll be here all week folks and don't forget to tip your waiter.
And to think I would get tired of hearing all the puns about tsio, however, they just never get old. Gotta love them all. Go Blue!
cannot possibly be bad news for Michigan.
...good one, Tom.
...for those that don't follow me on Twitter...
Is this a legit reschedule, or a "my recruitment is heating up and I'm not sure I like UM as much anymore, but they were my only big-time offer"?
...at about 2:20 ET today:
TomVH Illinois DB Anthony Standifer said he rescheduled his Michigan trip because his dad was unable to make the trip, not because of new offers
Makes perfect sense that since Standifer had to delay his visit, Richardson is delaying his commitment too. As it was was writen in the Genesis, thou must come in pairs of two, one from Michigan and one from out of state.
I just scratched my name on my Genesis so my little brother wouldn't play it.
A mysterious second cornerback thinks a Michigan commit sounds like a better and better idea.
Does anyone know if it's true that Anthony Standifer picked up a Notre Dame offer along with 3 other offers yesterday? I think that Hoke & Co. may be onto something in that kid.
It's true.
He did.
I understand that it was a great day for him, but is he really soo busy now that he can't visit? If Thursday was going to be an official visit, I could understand that logic.
Yes, he did. I said a couple weeks ago that I thought Standifer was a sleeper, and it seems like college coaches are discovering him now. I think the kid can play.
Well lets hope he chooses Michigan because we are the ones who gave him his first offer and expressed confidence in his abilties to compete at the highest levels of college football.
Minnesota offered him before we did.
Like yooper said, we gave him his first offer. Hopefully he returns the favor.
What is this, a negotiation? Why would he give Michigan an offer?
Regardless...we weren't the first school to offer him a scholarship.
Like Standifer said, Minnesota was his first big ten offer. Michigan followed shortly after.

If you don't get it now, I guess you never will.
Lets just hope we can land him.
So who will be the other half of the "commit pair"?
...you might want to change that from "Cassette Tech" to "Cass Tech" (stupid auto-correct).
Tom also notes via his Twitter account that Standifer is slowing things down because of the recent attention he's getting and he's had to reschedule his Thu visit to Michigan.
You mean you didn't know they changed the school's name? C'mon MGoShoe, you're better than that.
8-track high
i thought they were going to motowns heyday and naming it vinyl high
...I clicked on that link. My wife is going to love that site.
Holy sweet baby Jesus! That is the funniest damn thing I have seen in forever. I am crying I am laughing so hard!
Looks like interest in Standifer is starting to heat up. ND, Cincy, and Minny have offered now.
TRich and AStand commiting to us soon!
He picks PSU over us and Stanford. His buddy and teammate Camren Williams committed to PSU. I know Armani is big on academics which could help us a ton. But i think proximity plus teammate leads him to PSU. Just like how we like our chances with TRich and Burbridge based on teammate connections.
This one is still close though. Alot of experts have us in the lead.
At this rate our recruitting class will be filled by the end of july? What is going to get me over the hump on the way to kickoff?
worry about de-commitments, transfers, and whatever other angst-producing possibilities exist for igniting our natural pessimism.
Or you could run replays of the recruiting victories, somewhat the way many of us did when we watched Michigan's NC basketball run in '89 about fifty times in the first month after the last win.
Yeah thats what I was wondering, Richardson is definitely a corner but who would more likely be taken as a safety, Standifer or Reeves?
There's also Wayne Morgan who can play safety.
I thought Wayne Morgan cooled on us and may have even taken us out of his top 3?
Who is in his top 3?
Maybe I missed the boat on that one...
Magnus or Tom, does anyone know about this? Last I heard it was us and Rutgers.
From May 4th's recruiting round-up, "NY CB/S Wayne Morgan told 24/7 Sports that he's most interested in Rutgers, Syracuse, and UConn, though they must have omitted the part where he said "and least interested in winning football games" (glass houses and all that, but whateva). Michigan dropped in on him last week."
<br>
My guess would be Standifer.
So is it now standard thinking that we will be taking . . .
2DB's and a S
???
A "S" is a "DB."
But anyway, Standifer said the coaches want to take 3 cornerbacks. My guess is that they want one of them to have the versatility to move to safety as well.
