Saban

I have read on a few threads comments about Hoke being a MAC coach, and that is all we should expect.  I would like to pose a question to the indigents making this statement.  Where did Saban and Gary Pinkle start their college coaching careers?  It was the University of Toledo.  With that said look at the success they have both had coming from the MAC.  When you look at Hoke at both HC jobs he has had (Ball State and SDSU).  The evidence is there he has won at both places.  WE need to give him time to get his personnel in place.  His recruiting is the best this University has seen since 2005.  I know the frustrations have settled in but as a fan of these student atheles we need to weather this storm.  Hoke will win here!  Now do I agree there need to be changes in the offensive coaching staff, absolutely.  Borges need to go he has not shown any ability to plan for a big game, nor make changes needed throughout a game to stay competitive.  Funk is next on that list.  I know the OL is young and as already stated on several other threads these guys should not be thrown to the wolves and put in a position to fail as they are this year.  Jackson is the next to go.  I know he has been one of the better recruiters for this team in the past with his connections, but the time has come where Michigan needs to part ways with him.  I feel as a RB coach he has done nothing in the past few years to develop our RB depth.  This is a huge concern.  To think with all the RB's which have been recruited the past few years, and we still have truly only given Fitz the ball is alarming.  Things will work out just give hike the time needed to right the ship.

I may be wrong for saying

I may be wrong for saying this, but I actually enjoyed Lewan giving it back to them.  Everyone talks about toughness and bringing a swagger back.  I may not have liked the penalty but like someone has already eluded too these are thugs with a chip on their shoulders.  The best way to get even is to just dominate them; however, it is difficult to dominate someone when your O-line mates are not heloing the cause.  This was purely out of frustration and for that I can deal with it.  His NFL stock is solid and will still be a 1st rounder he has been the only lineman to play consistent all season.

Great Day

What a great indeed.  Walk off homer and Michigan takes down Ohio!!!

I apologize right from the

I apologize right from the start.  However, you stated if Kelly leaves you really like our chances!  DId I miss the ND M game?  Was ND the better team on the field?  From what I remember of the game, if not for 5 turnovers, with 4 of them in the red zone, we crushed ND.  The team mistakes beat Michigan ND did not.  Kelly can stay or he can go, ND was severely overrated all season, as we all saw in the NCG.

I don't post often and again I am sorry for this post as I am sure it will get ripped by someone.  But looking at the schedule I can see a 12-0 record, however, as someone already stated in another thread, Michigan has been fortunate with injuries.  As long as we continue the good luck 12-0 we will be. One or two injuries on the OL and we lose a couple close ones on the road (IE. PSU, Iowa and Northwestern.)

Amen, to be the best you have

Amen, to be the best you have to play the best.  I am not happy we were dessimated on the field.  However, I have been an advocate to play a tougher schedule for years.  I am tired of the MAC schools and low level Mid Major's.  It is time we schedule games like this year in and year out.  No offense to ND, but they lost their National prominence when Douche Bag Holtz retired.  I still love the rivalry, but thye do not give us the strenghth of schedule that a Bama, LSU or anyother SEC team will give us.  I am a winner and a competitor through and through, we all hate to lose, but I will take a lose like this, learn from it and move on.  We now know where we are deficient and can make the necessary corrections to improve as a team and program.

Thank you for posting this

Thank you for posting this for me!

I can not post or I just

I can not post or I just don't know how, either way I thought being we were talking about an Ohio recruit, this would tie in.  Looks like Saline HS will be getting a very good coach and one with ties to Michigan, here is the link if someone would like to post for me.   http://www.13abc.com/story/16361440/whit

True, we will see how well he

True, we will see how well he does at Illinois.

True I forgot about Kelly,

True I forgot about Kelly, and Hoke, Bo and Ara Parsegean (I think that is how you spell his name.)

It is truly amazing the

It is truly amazing the quality coaches The University of Toledo has pumped out in the last 20 years.  Pinkle, Saban and now Beckman.  Than you take a look at BG, with Gary Blackney and Meyer.  The MAC is truly a great stepping stone to the major college football coaching careers.

I love watching them all

I love watching them all squirm over there.  Thanks that was worth the read.

Wasn't Dunn and Treadwell

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't Dunn and Treadwell both coming with their parents?  Seems to me that maybe we might be witnessing more than one commit coming our way this weekend.

As for the "GAME."  I think we need to win the game first before we start thinking about rushing the field.  I remember, I think it was 95 or 96 when Eddie George was the premier of the Conference and Ohio was suppose to walk all over us.  However, Biakabatuka had his way with Ohio instead.  My point let the boys play the game before we start counting the game as a Victory.

I woke my wife and son up from a nap when I read this.

Why does Miss State have to

Why does Miss State have to suck so bad this year after the success from last year.  I would be thrilled with a rematch from last year.

Not trying to cause conflict,

Not trying to cause conflict, however, when I hear RR is a "Great Coach," it makes me nauseated.  Maybe it is my perception, but to make one great they have to be a winner whenever and where ever they are.  RR was not a winner where ever he has coached.  Yes RR will be very successful in the future, but his failures on his last stop limit the great status for me.  I wish RR the best of luck where ever he goes.

Trolling really, because I

Trolling really, because I have an opinion?

I have to think you are on to

I have to think you are on to something. I know the coaches keep saying Denard is the man, but Devin is a much better fit to run the Pro-style set. I would like to see Denard and Devin lineed up next to one another in the backfield, have a predetermined snap and let either one makes some plays. I couldn't imagine what a DC would be thinking not knowing which QB is going to get the ball and the potential options out of the set.

Third.

Third.

It is all good.  There is not

It is all good.  There is not one person on here at some point in their lives they did not make a mistake.  However, it takes a much bigger person to stand up and say you "F'd" up.  I commend you for that

I don't have one in

I don't have one in particular.  I feel as though any and every lose to Sparty, ND and the Sucknutts are equally gut wrenching.

Yes, Persa should be back

Yes, Persa should be back this weekend.  With that said that will give him one week to get game prepared for us.  Persa has shown incredible pose against us, and NW always plays us tough especially there.

Great read as usual.  Was

Great read as usual.  Was hoping, while you are down checking out the Cougars and Panthers game this week, if you could do a little scouting for me.  I have not had a chance to make to a football game back home this year, but have been keeping up on Maumee in the box scores.  They seem to have a sound team, but have not heard of any big time recruits from there in a few years.  Thanks will be awaiting your post next week about the game.

I agree with most if not all

I agree with most if not all of the comments made thus far.  However, my assessment of everything may be a little different to some.  I like what the D has done, in terms of TO's, however, when Mattison has to make so many adjustments in the game just to stop a team like EMU, is disconserting.  If we don't get more pressure from the front four, teams with a good soild accurate QB could give our secondary more problems.  Just look at the stats from ND, If not for the TO's ND suffered, we would have been blown out in that game.  Going back to the ND game, JT needs to be credited for doing an extremely acceptable job against one of the best WR's in the country.  I don't know how many yards after catch Floydd had after catch, but watching the game and everone knowing where the ball was going, I really think JT stepped up and competed very well against him.  Avery looks solid as well as Woolfolk and T.Gordon.  The LB's look years ahead of where they did last year, so yet another great positive for this D.  All and all, I am very pleased with this D.

As for the ST's I like what Wile has done, as a true frosh, punting.  I like everyone else am very concerned about our coverage teams, we are giving up way to many yards after catch.  We need to shore up quickly.  FG kicking is definetely promising.  I would like to see how well he does in a clutch pressure situation before I pass further judgement.

I have ND in a blowout 35 14

I have ND in a blowout 35 14 with no turnovers.

Then I have MSU in a close one 38 - 34, in a turnover filled afternoon for ND.

If ND can hold onto the ball they are one of the dealiest teams in the country.  Sparty will be thier first victim.

I know that is what Herbie

I know that is what Herbie said when they came back and were talking about it, however, after rewatching it over and over again, I don't see where they can claim he didn't have posession. It clearly looked as though he had posession

The funny thing about your

The funny thing about your comment, last year there was a cheap shot on a Michigan player.  I can't remember what game it was, and everyone on here weere expressing their feelings about how there is no place in football for that type of behavior.  Now the table has turned, it is a Michigan player which did it, and you are supporting the behavior.  HYPOCRITES

It is funny how many are high

It is funny how many are high on Hawthorn, but nonoe has mentioned the cheap shot/punch he had just as the ABC was going to a break.  Also strikes me as ironic not a mention of it when they came back to aire.  I loved his play, not questioning his ability to make this D better, but I will question his character as a student athelete at Michigan!  There is no place for that type of behavior from anyone on this team.  We are the Ohio, Sparty, or anyother team out there.

I agree this game the front

I agree this game the front four need to improve and get more pressure.  I think as long as they get pressure and don't give Rees or Chryst have time to throw the ball we will be fine defensively.  Offensively I would like to think a solid run game (from the RB corp,) That should open up the pass game and running attack for Denard.  Now as for the ST's, I believe this game is going to come down to a miss field goal, a field goal made, or a major blunder on a KO or PR.  as we have talked about above, we have to be solid to win these big games.

I disagree with your

I disagree with your statement, "No one will win a Championship because of their ST's."  If you referring to the second paragraph you wrote, you explain how one can win a Championship with great ST's.  If we have a FG kicker who is nearly perfect,  a return game which can give you great field position time and time again, and a coverage team which can pin teams deep in their territory, how does that not translate to more victories and a potential Championship?  I do agree with the fact that St's are not as nearly important as the O or D, but I strongly believe you have to be solid in all facets of the game.

I think the most intriguing

I think the most intriguing game from those listed above will be ND USF.  Skip hotltz will have those boys ready to play.   We will see if ND is looking ahead to the night game next week!

You are right on Magnus, that

You are right on Magnus, that is something taught at a very young level in the sport.  Anyone who is taught properply at a young age has a huge advantage.  I am hoping BWC can and will be the superstar he has the potential to be, but like you I don't see it happening.  I just don't see him learning to keep the pad level down.  However, the talk about Brink taking over as a leader on the DL, could end up being just the incentive BWC needs to work even harder to become that Superstar.

Excellent job, thanks for

Excellent job, thanks for taking your time to do some nice scouting!

sounds like a great team, you

sounds like a great team, you are building Brian.  Although, I will miss the TomVH updates, im sure these new guys will do a great job as well.  Want to send out a last thank you to Tom and Tim for all their hardwork and time they both put forth.

With the coaches this team

With the coaches this team has and the ability they have, I would not count this team out of anything.  I said it last year, and I will say it again this year.  There is talent on the D, they just need to be coached, and need to learn fundementals.  Sound tackeling and assignment football and the D will be much much better than most are expecting.

Well dicuss away, until it is

Well dicuss away, until it is deleted, if in fact it will be!  Congrats Tim!

Excellent Job, would like to

Excellent Job, would like to see this type of post more often.

As much as I love to see TSIO

As much as I love to see TSIO in crap ton of trouble and finally get knocked down a few notches, is this really what is best for the Conference?  Without Ohio, the Leaders Division looks very lopsided, with Wisconsin taking the helm.  This would also take away drasticly from the best rivalry in all of sports.  I would love to see the hammer dropped on them, but at the same time, I would hate to see the intrgrity of the conference and rivalry placed in jeopardy.

I hope the entire fan base

I hope the entire fan base and not just Bo is grinning ear to ear.  This is the way Football was meant to be played.

Now that is absolutely funny

Now that is absolutely funny as hell!!  Kudos to you for a great piece!

Once again Denarded,

Once again Denarded, excellent job.

Translation, your a

Translation, your a Jackwagon!  Do you think I care if you can't follow my posts?  Not one bit, do think I care if you are insulting me?  Again, not one bit.

Now do I tink they will be

Now do I tink they will be perefect, by no means, but a much improved squad they will surely be.  I do think we will give up a few 3rd and longs, but those should be early in the season.  They will make the stops needed later on against much tougher competition.

This is as true of a

This is as true of a statement as any.  This D can only go up from the last 3 years.  However, I don't like to term surpirse, after the first few games and the team gets the oppurtunity to pound a few teams into the ground, the confidence will grow.  With the confidence will come dominance, there will be no surprise when this team wins alot of games.  Everyone will know who they were just dealt an asswiping from hell from.

All I can say is, go back to

All I can say is, go back to the article from earlier this year.  The writer, (can't remember who it was,) wrote when RR was here the D was used to make the O better, and now it is all about getting back to the fundementals as a whole.  To me that speaks volumes to what this staff will do come September.  I am excited to see a D that has learned to take the proper pursuit angle, and knows how to open field tackle.  This D will be much improved.  We have the talent, albeit much of the personnel are undersized for the MANBALL mentality, but they now have experience at the college level.  The only missing link was proper coaching.

I agree, and to think he

I agree, and to think he could possibly getting 75% of the carries in AA, if he did not decide to go elsewhere.  The kid will be a stud.  I cna't help to think about Dee and Hopkins in the same backfield, that would have been exciting.

I know I am the minority

I know I am the minority here, but I actually like them.  My feeling was not immediate, however, after pondering it for a little while, they have grown on me.  As long as they don't mess with the helmet and have solid color pants and socks, these will look sharp under the lights.

I happen to be back home, in

I happen to be back home, in Toledo over the weekend, for a Birthday party.  While there I ran into my Sisters in-Laws who are all OSU fans.  I just can't believe the ignorance they have over the seriousness of the implications of Tressels actions.  They truely don't feel as though he did anything wrong, AT ALL.  Tressel will be ever known as a Saint in that Shitty State!

As always Denarded,

As always Denarded, tremendous job! Thank you for the great job you do keeping everyone up to date on the MgoBlog countdown Clocks!!
