Todd McShay on TT

Submitted by Enjoy Life on
"The more I watch Tim Tebow this year the less likely I think he is to be a starting quarterback in the NFL. That's really the bottom line. Because coming into the year I was told well he's getting a quicker release, he's gonna get the ball out sooner, he's gonna understand reads better. I'm not seeing any of that. He still takes entirely too long to get the ball from point A to point B. He's not reading coverages very well. You saw against this Kiffin defense, he was lost at times. ...Where he had to put the ball into tight spots, he didn't do it. He made some bad decisions....." "Maybe a 4th or 5th rounder." Ouch!

Is that avatar...Sanjaya? I briefly considered negging you for that. Then I saw you had "brose" in your name. I'm a fan of anything including "bro," just like anything including "home." For example, "homeslice," "homeskins," "ho(l)mes," etc. And "broski," "broseph," "brosephus," etc. Too much coffee.

He will go in the 1st round because he can play TE or FB in the NFL as well. Someone will fall in love with the idea of turning him into a dropback QB or the idea of a wildcat QB/FB/TE type hybird. Not saying he should go that early but its just my feeling.

But someone will overdraft him. He could fit in at other positions, and be useful in a specific goalline package. Some team will talk themselves into him in the 2nd or 3rd round, the publicity garnered by drafting the golden boy will be too much for someone to pass up.

The greatest college football player ever (puke) is sure to be the #1 overall pick. How can you say he won't even go in the first round? Sure makes it look like Florida's God was a product of Percy Harvin's speed. Or as M fans know from that glorious bowl game the product of teams of the so called greatest college football conference being afraid to put pressure on the chosen one.

Sabastian Janikowski,a kicker(obviouslly) went in the first round. Also a punter by the name of Ray Guy was drafted in the first round. I would say there is a chance one of the greatest college players ever could go in the first round, again not saying it will happen, but I could see it happening.

If he goes in as a WR/FB/TE with a chance to play QB hybrid he just might. See: Matt Jones and Eric Crouch (both Rd 1 I believe). Also, Pat White was a 2nd rounder (but he did impress at the combine to get up there). I'd bet money that Tebow is gone on day one.

some good points but he will not go in the first round. He can't go that high because NFL GMs cannot afford to "miss" on Tebow. Because all of the negative views of his pro potential, the pressure will be too great. The only NFL team that "bucks" the trend is the Raiders so with JaMarkus being a bust, he could go there but it would be too high and Al Davis would get murdered in the press for it. Tebow is the greatest winner in college football history and I really respect him but does anyone else feel like he is a product of the "ESPN Hype Machine." I think Florida might struggle to go unbeaten this year but to win the NC, all they have to do is win the SEC (even with a loss) and make the title game. GO BLUE!!!!!

McShay say on ESPN yesterday that he thought Forcier was the seventh best player in the country, at any position? He was putting up a list of the top five players not named McCoy or Tebow and Forcier came in at #5. That's great and all but I think a bit much.

mcshay has always hated tt.he and kiper argue over the issue constantly. he is a terrible pro no doubt but jacksonville "who cant put buts in the seats" will never let a local kid go by. tt may not be an nfl qb but he will fill seats. the biggest impact tt will have on the nfl will be counted not cheered.

for the same career as Tommy Frazier.....wonderful college QB with little professional upside. Tebow's NFL fortunes will come down to his perfromance in the combines. I think Tebow might be able to be a situational TE in the pro's. Can't see him being an every down anything though.
