We might not have a world series win yet but I'll be damned if I'm not excited to see 4 straight division titles after the team made the playoffs for the first time in my life in 2006.

It looked bleak for awhile down the stretch, but they pulled it off.

Good for the Tigers! Now please win the World Series so I can finally stop hearing my parent's stories of yesteryear about 1984. I want one of my own to talk about.

When I was active duty Navy I met Darrell Evans at an overseas USO event in the mid-90's. I must have sounded like a blabbering idiot to him.

35-5 start, Kirk Gibson, Jack Morris, Tram & Whittaker. Those were good times, WD. "Bless You Boys!"

As a 12-year old born and raised on the Tigers, 1984 was a magical year.  My brother and I remark about what a number of childhood memories center on those Tigers and other events of that year.

Much the same for 1997 Michigan football.

Even as a fan, you just know you are part of something special when it's happening.

Hoping for a magical October in Detroit and a return to enjoyable autumn Saturdays in A2 sooner than later.

As someone who grew up with the Tigers being good then bad then good once more and consistently competitive for the most part since 2006, I am going to say that I like these times in Detroit baseball much more having lived through both sorts of periods. We have had the luxury of almost a decade of this from the Tigers now and come what may in the postseason, I have really enjoyed this stretch. Let's do this, Tigers.

i have an extra good then bad in there.  norm cash was my favorite player as a little kid.

i also wonder what could have been if modern surgical techniques were around in the 70s.  Mark "the bird" Fidrych would have been in his prime in the early/mid 80s.

Yeah man, and don't forget that they have, like, mad NFL starting QBs, yo! Sure, two of the three aren't leading their teams anywhere near the playoffs, and they have two injuries and one spoiled brat draft pick to thank for the fact that they're playing, but all that matters is they have MORE "starters" in THE LEAGUE than Michigan! And all it took for that to finally happen was...Michigan abandoning the formula that had made them a NFL QB factory for decades.

Great job clinching the division. This team is so streaky--hopefully this is a streak that goes positive through the playoffs and beyond.

Last three years I've been on assignment in Europe and had to watch them at crazy hours of the AM. Looking forward to some playoff baseball on Mountain Time again.
