THJ Doin' it Godzilla Big at All-Star Weekend

Submitted by Pit2047 on

Stat Line:  24:29 Minutes 12/23 FG, 7/16 3 pt. FG, 1 REB, 2 AST, 36 points (Game High)

Both he and Dion Waiters went into a back and forth shooting frenzy with to go 8:32 in the second half.  In a 5 minute stretch, Hardaway scored 22 of Team Webber's 28 points and Waiters scored 23.  To anyone who stayed up to watch the end of the game it was special to watch.

for your support of full transparency on votes.  If we're able to see every time "Black Ops" downvotes any OP that is labeled "OT:", then why can't we see the dirty work of a handful of serial neggers who target certain MGoPosters?

I wasn't being specific to Michigan. I was talking in general. some players skills are better suited to the NBA than college. while others were great college players who's game didn't translate well to the NBA. see most undersized post players. look at guys like Scotty Thurman, Christian Laetner and Adam Morrison.

Something tells me he isn't going to be shooting 16 threes again for a while. But great performance by waiters and hardaway

Man that felt good seeing some of that old magic. I honestly thought the game was pretty boring up to that point, so it was much needed. Love how the players just cleared it out and let those two go at it.

I watched the entire game but gave up right about when this duel was about to start.  Nice timing. Go figures.  Anyway, thanks for posting.  That battle looked incredible.

(LINK) - here is the complete box score, if anyone is interested.

One other intriguing fact about this game, and largely because of Hardaway and Waiters putting on a bit of a clinic, this game had 20 lead changes and 18 ties. Also, Andre Drummond managed to get 25 total rebounds in his MVP effort - the next highest total on either team was Anthony Davis' eight.

the only thing not Carmeloesque about that stat line is the 2 assists -- that's two more than old #7 (no relation) distributed in his 62-pt effort last month at the garden

Great work by THJ. Still doesn't have the greatest handle in the world, but when he gets hot he cannot miss. Those were some deep 3 pointers and he made them look like 15 foot jump shots. Great to see the U of M guys doing well.

3 years at Michigan helped him but his game was always more Pro than college. At this level you must be able to get your own shot and be able to win a one v one match up with your defender....and this is why the Stauskas and GR3 to the pros stuff is so comical.
