Let's just call it like it's goin to be. UConn vs msu on Sunday, can UConn pull off the upset?

For a long time in b-ball, I rooted for Sparty if they weren't playing us. Not anymore. Too much complaining, too much media slobber all over their whiny-ass hand-breaking weird-guy roster, too much Izzo going off the deep end. Go Huskies.

Spot on man! I can't stand them especially with the media pronouncing them champs already. Makes me sick, Izzo is the biggest crybaby ever

Payne jumps up, bobbles the ball, lands and MSU gets a jump ball call, not a travel. On replay, the VA defender wasn't even close to him and all Raftery can say is "great defense." The officiating has sucked all around tonite

I turned it on thinking that this was a win-win--MSU advances, three B1G teams are in the Great 8; they lose and MSU loses. Soon as I started to watch my loathing for MSU too over and I'd just like Virginia to pound them.

Kentucky closing in on Louisville at the half... until Smith hits a ridiculous floater off the top of the backboard to stretch it back to a 3-point game.

From watching the games in the tournament it seems like that is the case. Officials calling it here and there, but still letting it go for the most part.

Pretty much the concern everybody had about how it would play out, that the refs would be tough on it early in the season, and than gradually become more and more lax.

MSU has a tendency to lose when I'm not watching.  I missed their losses against Georgetown, Nebraska, Illinois, Ohio State, North Carolina AND I missed their loss to us at Breslin because I was down in Miami at a wedding.

So I'm going to keep watching Kentucky/Louisville.  Hopefully that helps.

Roommate went to UVa so I'm pretty familiar with them. That was an uncharacteristically bad half for them. Give the Hoos respect. I think they win this one by at least 7.

By the way, any chance we can get some fans to Indy by Sunday?    Looked like we had like 500 fans there.  I know most will be UK/LOuisville today, but geez.  The UM contingent looked and sounded small.

their toughest test is tonight against a good but not normally #1 seed quality Virginia. They win and they get a UConn team that is by far the worst left in the field. The final 4 is a gimme for them (imo) if they get by a good but not great Virginia. Yes, msu has been paying well but their path almost seems like it leaves them fresh/energized for each game. I truly think that Florida will be their first REAL competitive game so imagine if Dayton wins....ha. A bit homer of me (first time ever) but it just seems like things feel their way in a regional with a good but not great Virginia holding the top spot.

I just went through some of the stuff posted over at the World Wide Leader about the Tenn. game and holy schnikes, they love the Vols. It's like they're lobbying the NCAA to retroactively give Michigan an L and let the Vols play on Sunday. Every other sentence is Tennessee was so great, Tennessee was so amazing, Tennessee did exactly what they had to do but just didn't have time to come back, Michigan was luck yot hold on, Michigan got the benefit of the refs' calls and Tennessee was really fighting an uphill battle... sickening.

UVA plays with so much effort and tenacity on D.  Very impressive.  I'd love to incorporate a bit more of that into our team - we'd be unstoppable with our offensive firepower.

Offense is a little iffy, but their defense is suffocating. I would be surprised if this isn't a tight game that goes down to the last couple of minutes.

Virginia is really playing well now.  They look good and strong.  That could be a problem for us.  But MSU knows us - I like our Beilein advantage against VA better.... and I hate watching MSU win pretty much anything.

And go UK - also taking the lead.

Izzo would trade teams in a second.  One team has all the NBA draft stars.  The other team plays with tenacity and as a team.

This is how MSU used to play about 7-8 years ago.
