Yeah, who?

Problem is it's not how unworthy the source, the problem is the narrative is out there and the AD office is looking like fools, I'm so sick of this shit!

Michigan has, accumitively the richest alumni of any school in the world, why is a 10 million dollar buyout a concern?

It shouldn't be.

The only way out of this is 1) JH leaves, 2) Warde fires him and pays him $10 million, or 3) JH signs his extension.  At this point one is clearly the best option, but that only happens on JH's time unless you want to pay $10 to make it happen a few weeks sooner.  He is under contract.  Is it worth it?  I honestly don't know, but Warde's answering this with his actions.  He believes either it is worth it, he can still sign his backup regardless of if JH leaves tomorrow or in 3 weeks, or that he'll be back and wants him back.  But, he's clearly not going to fire JH to move this along faster.

You'd hope that a reporter would be an independent enough thinker to be able to consume the information she's receiving and gauge its credibility before regurgitating it.  My point is that I've listened to Godfrey (back when he did a podcast with Bill Connelly) and read enough of his pieces to get a strong sense that he's one of those "bad press is still press" type of writers and he'll uncritically say whatever gets him attention.

I'll admit some of this is my general distaste for Godfrey bleeding into my reading of this situation (I still remember his reporting on the Ole Miss sanction situation being some of the most insipid, navel-gazing bothsidism writing I've seen in a long time), but this feels like a guy fucking around with Ace and knowing he'll get attention for it.

Godfrey is pretty tight with a good amount of coaches/staffs. He also has a pretty good Rolodex of agents and I would say is pretty dialed in as far as reporters go.

His shtick is a bit annoying at times, we get it, you hate college football. But he’s spot on with his sources.

Michigan is the perfect target for his angst because of our perceived holier than thou attitude and insistence amongst our fan base that we never, ever cheat. For him he doesn’t see/care about the difference of a bag being dropped vs. other avenues of cheating— he sees it all as the same. I disagree, but that’s his jaded take on college football.

Godfrey is one of those SEC guys (Alum of one of the Mississippi schools) who is very much on the "everybody cheats" bandwagon and mocked MGo / M fans in general for being so upset over the Freeze scandal etc.  This is where the distaste for him by Brian etc. originates.

He did seem to be pretty connected in coaching circles but haven't followed him at all since Bill Connelly left the podcast they shared so maybe this has changed..
