Stefon Diggs Announcement - 10PM ET 2/10
Arguably off topic since Stefon Diggs won't be selecting Michigan, but since Ohio is still in the mix, it's relevant. I haven't done the scholarship math, but if he chooses Auburn, I suppose it could shut the door on Kozan to the Tigers. Anyhow, here's the link.
Good Counsel High School wide receiver Stefon Diggs is set to announce his college decision on Comcast SportsNet on Friday night. Diggs will make the announcement during the 10 p.m. Geico SportsNet Central after the Wizards' game with LeBron James and the Miami Heat.
Diggs has confirmed to CSN that he has narrowed his list to five schools. Auburn, Cal, Ohio State, Florida and Maryland are still in the running for the five-star recruit's services.
Edited the title with the correct day per the astute observation of Hello Heisman 21 noted below.

If I hear one more word about Stefon Diggs I might puke. But anyways, hopefully he does not pick Ohio. Other than that, good luck to the kid
February 7th, 2012 at 4:07 PM ^
I agree with you. This kid has NOTHING to do with Michigan, so why there was a thread created for him is beyond my comprehension.
February 7th, 2012 at 4:23 PM ^
I feel like the only thing you do is complain about threads
February 7th, 2012 at 4:51 PM ^
Some are pointless, that is why.

Stefon Diggs is...
Uh oh, clean up on aisle 7.

February 7th, 2012 at 4:17 PM ^
I always wondered what the deal was with that...why the two names?

Go Terapins!!!
I want all those schools to lose to Maryland.
February 7th, 2012 at 3:32 PM ^
So do I after hanging out with Randy Edsell a bunch of times at the local bar where we both grew up. Hes a great guy and alot of fun.
February 7th, 2012 at 6:28 PM ^
Are you saying that Randy Edsall got drunk and was an accomplice to the Craig James killings of 5 hookers at SMU?
Sure does sound like fun.

Ten o'clock PM on a school night!!!
February 7th, 2012 at 3:22 PM ^
Not a school night.
February 7th, 2012 at 4:13 PM ^
Thank God. For a minute there I thought we might be dealing with a big-time college football prospect who didn't take academics seriously.
February 7th, 2012 at 3:22 PM ^
Am I missing something? The block text says Friday. The Heat play the Cavs tonight, not the Wizards. Fix the title of this thread before the Internet collapses, fergodsakes.
February 7th, 2012 at 3:24 PM ^
Tonight isn't Friday
edit: thanks for fixing
February 7th, 2012 at 3:41 PM ^
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday...Friday? Good call, you're right.
February 7th, 2012 at 6:30 PM ^
everyday is Friday!

I hope he does go to Ohio. That way Peewee can smash his pathetic little body into the ground like he did in the Army game. Anybody see that clip? He caught Diggs in mid-air and plowed him!! Let Ohio get all these "5*" recruits and cry cause they can't win.
February 7th, 2012 at 3:35 PM ^
I'd rather them not get any 5 star recruits
February 7th, 2012 at 4:09 PM ^
Uh, yeah...neither would I. I want Michigan to BEAT OHIO, not LOSE TO OHIO.
February 7th, 2012 at 4:58 PM ^
I thought this was a pointless thread that had nothing to do with Michigan.
February 7th, 2012 at 3:33 PM ^
February 7th, 2012 at 3:37 PM ^
Weren't people saying Ohio was full three scholarships ago?? I thought they already turned away one stud recruit because of it.
February 7th, 2012 at 3:45 PM ^
Meyer said on signing day they were at 81, but wouldn't say how he got down to that number...
February 7th, 2012 at 4:10 PM ^
I think it's obvious he cut players he didn't want to make room for his recruits. The guy is a fucking scumbag.
February 7th, 2012 at 5:47 PM ^
February 7th, 2012 at 6:32 PM ^
somehow Meyer did it!
February 7th, 2012 at 3:37 PM ^
I hope he picks a team that UM will never play in a meaningful game, which means he'll be a Terrapin.
/Edsall sucks
Seriously, I expect either Auburn or OSU. My gut says OSU, but Auburn definitely is appealing if he feels that they'll have a decent passing attack.
February 7th, 2012 at 3:38 PM ^
It's funny that you mention scholarship math and Auburn...especially since Ohio is already a couple players above their max. I'm not sure that "limits" even apply anymore in the SEC and Ohio.
February 7th, 2012 at 3:41 PM ^
But but but but...Nick Saban had to turn down deserving players who really wanted to come to Alabama!
February 7th, 2012 at 3:41 PM ^
I would expect Urban to accept his commit ment anyway and make the room by not renewing a 5th year/having someone get "injured" and not continue their career. They did turn Davonte Neal away, who although a great prospect is not Diggs.
February 7th, 2012 at 6:20 PM ^
I'm halfway down this thread and...no mention of Demar Dorsey!?
No "well if Diggs doesn't come, does that open a spot for the No Fly Zone?!"
Well folks, here it goes...demar dorsey. Demar Dorsey. DEMAR DORSEY. DEMAR DORSEY!!!
February 7th, 2012 at 6:34 PM ^
I think RR is recruiting him!
February 7th, 2012 at 3:47 PM ^
This is coming from SEC people, who know a thing or two about shady recruitments. Rumor has it, that less than two weeks before his decision, Diamond had all but left Auburn for dead as a viable option for his services. Something happened on his OSU visit, that really altered his opinion of his recruitment in a whole. I can tell you this, that in the past when something like this has happened, it usually involves that recruit having asked for something. Michigan is one of those schools that doesn't take part of anything remotely rule dodging, so if it was brought up to them, I'm certain it was shot down immediately. Take all this for what you will, but it looks like Michigan caught a break avoiding Diamond.
Sorry that this isn't on topic, but I don't know the process into posting your own topic.
February 7th, 2012 at 4:03 PM ^
Seems like there may be an interesting story there.
February 7th, 2012 at 4:11 PM ^
Just on pure speculation, I think that he did ask OSU for something. What that is, I'm not 100% sure, but I think it may have been a job for his Mother. Whether or not OSU was ready to grant his request, who knows. I think someone on that OSU staff may have offered something, and Urban turned him down flat. Urban may point blank lie about a lot of things, but he has never really been apart of anything like this. I think this gave Jordan the knowledge, that there was a team out there who would grant his request.
February 7th, 2012 at 4:27 PM ^
What seems weird to me is that anything (whatever it might be) happening with OSU would change his opinion regarding Michigan.
February 7th, 2012 at 5:11 PM ^
There are definitely rumors out there...
It was certainly odd to see OSU drop Diamond, despite their desperate need for tackles. It's not like Urban stops recruiting players, no matter how low the probability.
Like OSU, Michigan wasn't going to offer the things that Diamond and/or his camp wanted. It wasn't too hard to read the tea leaves after OSU dropped Diamond.
February 7th, 2012 at 4:20 PM ^
I am glad you know/think this about Michigan. I always wanted to think we wouldn't participate in this (or any "rule dodgin" as you call it - save extra stretching), but I was afraid it was my maize coloured glasses.
do others in the SEC think this about Michigan too?
To be honest, I would rather lose honourably - than win by rule dodging every time. And it seems pretty clear that Hoke agrees with this mindset.
