Spring Game details

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Details have been announced via email blast from the athletic department.

Michigan Lacrosse will play OSU at 10:30am

The Spring Game will be at 1pm.

And they did use the word game and logo, so it sounds like it's gonna be a game again contrary to previous beliefs.

Maize has won 15 of the last 21 spring games including last year's goal line stand thriller.

Blue leads the all-time series, 34-20.

Has anyone else seen that it will now be legal to carry a concealed firearm into the stadium at Arkansas? It's now legal to carry in any public building in the state.

Properly licensed of course.

Read the comments below...because of course not (for the other fans and for you dog).

But be careful taking a true puppy (as in younger than 5-6 months) into a bunch of places with a lot of people - germs. You have to build the immune system and get him/her socialized like anything else, but a football game wouldn't be smart even if it was allowed. Dog parks too until after a few months go by (personally I say 4 or 5 months).

Just do some in-house training. Then walk around a park or do a lap around PetSmart if you want to get the dog some attention or get some attention of your own. Puppy's in PetSmart on a weekend is fishing with dynamite.

Once the dog is 6 months...find all of the bars that allow pets, train your dog to behave, and thank me later.

Is there any commonality between the teams over the years? For example, is team blue always coached by the defensive coordinator and maize by offensive?

Or is it all just fun and randomness?

They of course choose the weekend I can't watch. Glad I know for a fact the mgoPosters won't let me down with a game torrent.

All-Maize uni's vs. All-Blue uni's PLEASE!!!

...Spring Game ONLY and NEVER, EVER, EVVVVVVVVER do it in any other game. Not a bowl game, not a practice scrimmage, not even during stretching (too soon?)

Give the young folks what they want, let them have it and it's actually Maize vs. Blue then leave the idea on the shelf until next Spring Game.

After the game, have the guys sign the jerseys and auction them...donate all of the money to #ChadTough.

I guarantee we'd push $100,000 if Harbaugh signed and auctioned the Khakis as well.

Fair enough. But I think it's a cool idea to let the folks especially younger folks see it and instantly raise a significant amount of money for a great cause.

All while not destroying any tradition of Michigan football or games that matter.

The spring game has no history or tradition. It hasn't even been close to a real game for most of the our recent memory. So it's not sacred (not saying you say it is...you probably just don't like the idea, which is fair, you're a "traditionalist" on the board and with good reason).

I like the idea of doing something different for a day and I've always hated bowl games and big non-conference games as that day. I hold the games that matter as sacred (personally) - I'd be willing to give on this especially for a good cause. And because it makes sense...maize and blue. And due to the TV pub and attention it would get in April. The croots would love it and right now with no games played...that stuff matters.

I hope they didn't cancel the Alumni flag game for Lacrosse. They need to build their stadium soon so that we no longer have to see those stupid lines on the field.

I wonder if they'll still play their big games in Michigan Stadium...which means the lines will still be ghosted into the turf.

If the team continues to get as good as it's getting...the Michigan/Maryland game could be a nice rivalry with some large crowds.

Look, I know that Ross donated enough coin to help finance all the non-revenues to get their own facility, but having Lacrosse play at the Big House instead of the far more size appropriate soccer stadium on South Campus has been absolutely mind boggling. Playing in front of 600 people in a 100,000 seat stadium may feel cool for a few guys but after a while, the shtick would wear thin. Also it looks awful from a TV perspective. Why they didn't just build a lacrosse building and locker room next to soccer and share the stadium is also baffling but I don't write $100 million checks to the U either.

#1    Punt the football

The rule should be that each team must actually punt the football (vs the "ghost" punt).  A "fair catch" results in a 10 yard gain.  A punt that is not caught is down where it hits the ground.

Punters need to show their stuff too.

Go Blue!

A few yrs ago they did locker room tours if you got there at like 7am, do they still do that? I'm bringing my 5 yr old son and this will be his first Big House experience. I would love to walk him through the lockers.

Gee, I sure hope Blue will finally break this stranglehold on Maize glory in the spring game. It's getting very embarrassing for Blue faithful in this historic rivalry.
