I always feel for S&C coaches.  A year plagued with injuries and you are on the block.  I'm sure it's a more nuanced decision than this, but still.  It's hard to fault the S&C coach for catastrophic injuries that come as a result of busted blocking assignments, or lapses in defense towards the end of the game when the offense can't get them more than a 5 minute breather.  Maybe it's just that, as a matter of personal preference, I don't think that decisions like this should come at this time of the year.  But then again, perhaps that's why I don't manage people or run a P5 football program.

Good luck.

in the 80's.  We hired a new VP of Safety and I coached his kid in baseball.  After three freak accidental deaths within his first 6 months, he was transitioned to a different job.  Not anything he did or didn't do, just a "jinx thing".

Hab  you can have some of your opinions but this team and it's toughness has a lot to do with the S&C coach Tolbert. If you cant see that then you are not as wise as your avatar might state. That FACT of the matter is that this team didn't have the strenghth and endurance to finish those game there pal. They didn't have that swag of effort and cockiness that comes with bodies that are hella swoll as they say. This team needs a young guy or group of guys that are highly motivated themselves and can get these young guys to believe above and beyond what they ever thought possible could be done in six or seven months time. If a great S&C coach is hired, this team will floor the fucking cleats off of teams next year.

Rumors from far off lands on the internet (FWIW) are speculating that offensive staff changes are very much in play as well but not until after the bowl game and/or NFL season.

Seems pretty strange given the amount of time they have coached together so can't imagine its one season of bad injury luck that drove this.
