Rudock, while I expected him to be fairly average but man, he missed some wide open throws today. Even the dump offs, which are his strong suit looked bad. Meh.

Honestly, I think Harbaugh is being stubborn about Rudock. As bad as he's been, it's difficult to believe no one else is close and couldn't get a longer look.

There are also other players who don't impress much during practice but light it up on game day. The only way to know for sure whether any given player will make an impact is to play him during games.

really let you have it after the Utah game...

I lost count of the amount of times he had miles of space to the outside but just ran into a defender down the middle. Isaac needs to start. He's simply a better player.

What if we can't run on an opponent? Can anyone imagine us airing it out with Rudock? A team that can shut down our running game can probably shut out our offense period.

I was *hoping* this would be a tune-up game going into BYU and the B1G. The offense started to click against Oregon State, but the passing game took a step backward today. Jake had an opportunity to put up huge numbers and was just meh.

Sadly, we already saw it against Utah when he threw it 43 times and threw three picks and cost us the game.

Of being able to beat MSU this year are dwindling. It's still possible but with every game I get less and less confidence in Rudock. And unless he plays out of his mind we won't beat them. We won't hold their offense to 10 points. We're going to need around 30 points at the least.

Never seem to get blown out. And they did just beat a top ten team last week.

has a better different offense then Air Force. AF gives most team fits because of their offense.

that whole game depends on rudocks arm because their d line is way too good.

Couldn't agree more. He really minimizes whatever chance we have in the rivalry games.

well at least the passing game has one consistent play in the WR screen

Woof. That was a step back this week. It seemed like the only play that was working was the sweep (both pitch and jet).
Rudock with a bad game, I need to lower my expectations of him. I think Rudock needs to put a little more air under the ball on the deep ball to give the receiver more time to adjust. That said the receivers aren't helping him at all on those. They look lost, two of them were catchable balls and they slowed up or did 360s looking for the ball.

Rudock has not looked close to good against the two worst teams on our schedule, and, even worse, hasn't shown any signs of improvement at all. I'm pretty nervous for B1G play. I think our defense can keep us in games enough to win 8, but it's truly baffling that this is somehow the best QB on the roster.

Not baffling.
Explanation is Borges + Hoke.
Sigh. Not baffling at all. Just sad, as RJWolvie said.

I also disagree that Rudock has poor arm strength. He just throws the deep balls 1-2 seconds too late. I'm not sure how correctable that is during the season, especially because he seemed to do this at Iowa as well.
