Six Zero's THANK YOU DENARD Card

Submitted by Six Zero on

I've heard some minor rumblings lately about not including you non-Twitter readers with the Blockhams 'FridayRough' series, which has been re-christened FridayFun in 2013 since they're really no longer roughs.

At any rate, today's Blockhams FF is a special one, designed as something of a thank you card to the one and only Denard X Robinson.  I know there's already been a few 'Thank You Denard' threads bouncing around, but just thought today's special artwork was worth sharing with the blog.

If you are on Twitter, hop over and give this thing a RT to show your support!

THE THANK YOU DENARD CARD

Thanks ShoeLace

I plan on offering the original artwork to Denard himself, but if he's too busy (what, it's not like he's preparing for an NFL career or anything) I might put it up for sale. It's suitable for a 5x7 frame, all in 2H & 5H pencil.

Happy New Year & Go Blue

I'd like to put a copy of this up in my office. Do you have a place to buy larger copies or should I just print it out as is? BTW, I definitely consider this your best work out of everything that you have done. Great job.

Love it Six Zero. Great drawing of a Michigan Man and legend. I retweeted it a bit ago, but I would retweet this so hard a thousand times more.

Great work and great idea.

Great artwork and message, be glad to know how to own one.

EDIT:  I am still getting trouble with directly replying to people's comments.  When I hit relpy, I always end up replying to the post rather than a specific comment.  Annoying...

We need to get some scratdch together to have six zero frame this and pass it off to Denard.  My guess is he would find a spot for it in a trophy cabinet somewhere.

this must be given to denard ~ he must own it. i am sure the sports dept can help. however, possibly you could print mini posters (4.25 x 11? on heavy card stock) that could be bought for 5 ~ 10 $ or so. this would be a real cool collectors piece to keep. i'd like to share it with my kids. imagine having something like this for AC or Woodson.

Very well said. Agree 100%. Can't wait to see him on Sundays. Also on Saturdays when he comes back to the big house from time to time. I have no doubt I will be telling my kids about Denard when they honor him in the future. I saw him ruin defensive coordinators and break records (not to mention ankles). He will be back and I will cheer as loud as I can because Denard provided hope every Saturday in the fall.

I would love a copy of this to put in my 3yr old son's room. I want him to look at it, read it (when he learns), and to respect what Denard did for this institution. I would like my son to carry himself like Denard did in his 4yrs here. Great job, great words, and I HAVE TO HAVE IT!

The original (if available) or a replica on a heavier stock. I encourage you to pursue that venture; it could be very rewarding for us and yourself.

Just like how the Children of Yost have signed flags to Carl Hagelin and Chris Brown in recent years, is there any way would could all sign this for Denard somewhere?

It'd be like the HTTV release party.

Exactly.  I was thinking the same.  To be effective, it would have to be signed by so many people, and I don't know how that could be done.  If put up on campus, it could be done, but that might be more work than is worth it.  Don't know.  But I'd like to think that this getting into Denard's hands would be meaningful to him.  I think he knows all that is said in the piece, and I think he already knows that so many people feel this.  Still, I like to think of him holding this and basking in what he has meant to so many fans.

Hear your suggestions and am flattered by your kind words. After the dust settles on this, I'll let you know where it goes from there. Thanks and Go Blue

I'm repeating myself but all of these tributes are so fitting.  Denard very well might be a once-in-a-lifetime kind of player and we're so lucky to have been able to watch him.  He's the kind of player that grandparents tell their grandkids about having seen play in person.
