Sherrone Moore, first black man to be Michigan head coach.
A monumental moment in the 144 year history of the Michigan football program. One that took far too long to come but is now here: A black man is the face of the University of Michigan’s most prominent arm.
Celebrate it. Embrace it. But most of all give Coach Moore your full support. He will need it.
Coach Moore is our Henry V now.
Once more unto the breach, gentlemen.
Go Blue.

Get him signed
January 24th, 2024 at 8:32 PM ^
9-3 is now the ceiling. Go Blue!
January 24th, 2024 at 11:59 PM ^
We have eight home games next year, our toughest road games are Washington and AN Ohio University, the former with a whole new staff/team, and the latter with dubious coaching talent.
Texas at home will be tough. We have a loaded defense, a great RB room, and while the O-line graduated en masse, the new unit has lots of experience playing together.
BPONE be gone.

The juxtaposition between the OP and this comment is going to result in some MGoNegs. Dunno if you meant it like that, but the optics are bad.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:58 PM ^
Did they announce it or are we just assuming?
January 24th, 2024 at 6:59 PM ^
This is my question, as well
January 24th, 2024 at 7:00 PM ^
It’s clear at this point that a succession has been the plan since Harbaugh was suspended. It’s Moore and I don’t think they will wait very long to announce it.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:12 PM ^
Agreed, I would bet the AD will make a public announcement before midnight making this official. Let Sherrone and his staff hit the recruiting trail tomorrow with a signed contract in hand.
January 25th, 2024 at 8:12 AM ^
Hasn't happened yet... But if we know one thing about Warde Manuel - the man can drag his feet and act slower than the proverbial molasses flowing uphill in January. So, yeah...
January 24th, 2024 at 8:01 PM ^
My Buddy’s son played for Sherrone at CMU and then was on the squad at Iowa for two years. He is a high academic achiever and knows the game of football. He is a smart kid.
Sherrone was his favorite coach he has played for. He says Sherrone is one of the brightest football coaches he has been around and has a demeanor that kids respect.
Lets hope that translates to being a great CEO and recruiter and continuing great things for the program.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:01 PM ^
He was already HC
January 24th, 2024 at 7:23 PM ^
Just SQ trying to farm pos votes, funny the first positive thing ive seen him post in a long time when we lose our HC.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:59 PM ^
signing Minter is more important
January 24th, 2024 at 7:01 PM ^
Not a chance. He is going with JH.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:03 PM ^
Agreed. I guarantee part of the deal Harbaugh made with the Chargers was to give Minter crazy-money to come along with Harbaugh.
#GoBlue
January 24th, 2024 at 7:07 PM ^
We should throw crazy money back at him .. If he wants NFL he will leave but don’t let money be the issue
January 24th, 2024 at 7:49 PM ^
checks user name.
looks sus.
may have found the spanos family mgoaccount....
January 24th, 2024 at 7:13 PM ^
I would suggest that Harbaugh consulted with Minter and they agreed to the deal with LA.
But you never know.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:05 PM ^
We had a little hope for about half a second. Schefter tweeted Fangio was leaving the Dolphins (Harbaugh's DC from Stanford and the 49ers) ... and then finished by saying Fangio was already going to Philly. That would've been a great hire for Harbaugh and for us.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:14 PM ^
Minter is better
January 24th, 2024 at 7:10 PM ^
I kind of think so too, but it's also very close. Moore's work with Oline and offense has been invaluable. MacDonald/Minter defense has been extremely fun tho.
Would it really be that difficult to find another guy who runs the same system? You'd think more and more D Coordinators would be moving to this system anyways.
Snag a Ravens DB coach or something lol
January 24th, 2024 at 7:25 PM ^
Michigan's assistants have been running that system for 3 years. I'm quite OK with promoting Clink
January 24th, 2024 at 7:13 PM ^
Make sure we have Herbert.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:14 PM ^
I just don't see it happening. He is probably headed with Jim to LA. Hopefully Sherrone can get on the horn with John and find another young under study from the Ravens organization to come run the defense and cut his teeth as a coordinator.
January 24th, 2024 at 8:14 PM ^
Finding someone new off the Ravens staff ain't going to be easy. Macdonald will get a HC job...Ravens will promote Anthony Weaver, and either Mike is taking people with him or other teams will be looking to copy the Ravens systems.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:23 PM ^
Minter is going with Harbaugh; the bigger question is if he takes Herbert with him. That's a guy who has made big strides from a health and physical development standpoint.
January 24th, 2024 at 6:59 PM ^
So the dream of getting Brian Kelly is dead?
<<yeesh, thought I might give folks a chuckle. sorry>>
January 24th, 2024 at 7:03 PM ^
You mean nightmare?
January 24th, 2024 at 7:05 PM ^
We were celebrating our first black head coach, not purple.
January 24th, 2024 at 9:12 PM ^
Lol gotta throw the race in there.
Garbage take.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:08 PM ^
Brian Kellys agent has done a great job getting everyone to think he has a shot at the Michigan job. Id be pissed. Sam Webb openly mocked the idea that it was even possible
January 24th, 2024 at 7:24 PM ^
This comment is bad and you should feel bad for submitting it.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:29 PM ^
Looks like you better learn to use the ' /s ', my friend!
January 24th, 2024 at 6:59 PM ^
Honestly, I am really excited to watch him as a head coach. Coach Moore seems like an ideal fit. Let's go!
January 24th, 2024 at 7:05 PM ^
The OC and HC jobs are apples and oranges. RichRod was a great OC but shit HC. Hopefully Sherrone has learned a lot from JH to cover the job well and doesn’t pull a Gary Moeller incident on us.
Hope we retain most staff and players.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:07 PM ^
Rich Rod was a great coach at West Virginia.
Every stop after was a disaster. He should've stayed where he was loved and appreciated. Which is what Harbaugh will realize in a few years
January 24th, 2024 at 8:54 PM ^
Yup. Jim isn't winning much with that organization and will be unemployed in 5 years. In the NFL, organizations from the top down are the most important piece to success. See the Lions. And that organization is a disaster.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:22 PM ^
I'm (cautiously) excited about Moore. I bet recruiting improves because he's more personable and less weird that Harbaugh, who isn't everyone's cup of tea, and presumably will connect better with a broader range of recruits.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:30 PM ^
I like this attitude, and I agree. Post-seasons will now be a time to recruit, not be recruited against.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:35 PM ^
Bring Courtney Morgan back from Alabama. Maize and Blue is thicker than water.
January 24th, 2024 at 8:57 PM ^
I believe that NIL is the most important piece of recruiting now. Not championships, academics, or where your buddy is going. And we just handed the keys to the Ferrari to an inexperienced driver, and forced him to drive with one (NIL) hand tied behind his back due to our approach to NIL. That sounds like a recipe for success. /s
Oh, and his offensive just left. Sweet.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:00 PM ^
lol, this is so weird
January 24th, 2024 at 7:08 PM ^
Whats weird about it?
Just curious.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:12 PM ^
What I see is going to be weird is that they just offered Harbaugh to be the highest paid coach in NCAA, but I imagine they won't give Moore anywhere near that.
Awkward!
January 24th, 2024 at 7:30 PM ^
It's only awkward if Moore thinks he should be paid like Harbaugh and I'm sure he doesn't. It should mean that Michigan will bump up the pool for Moore's staff.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:29 PM ^
because i thought we were suddenly supposed to be capitalizing Black now and then here comes this OP
January 25th, 2024 at 7:35 AM ^
Suddenly, huh?
Interesting.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:00 PM ^
I hope so - he is one heckuva coach.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:00 PM ^
He doesn’t see color. Why do you? Why do we need to label him by how God made him? Go Blue! Go Coach Moore!
