Schiano praises Mike Hart for RBs
Today, Schiano was asked about Blake Corum and RBs.
His response was to talk about following Mike Hart for years and thinking about hiring him.
Just another very well-respected head coach who likes Mike.

Don't be lulled into complacency Mr. Hart by this snake's smooth words.
September 20th, 2021 at 10:09 PM ^
Before Hart was hired by Eastern his twitter tagline read (paraphrasing) Future Head Coach - U of M. I don't think we have anything to fear from some eastern snake oil salesman.

Mike Hart and Juwan Howard. Bring home all the hardware fellas. In the meantime lets get Harbaughs legacy right first.
September 20th, 2021 at 11:35 PM ^
I feel like Schiano has a history of talking like this. Quite sus…
September 21st, 2021 at 1:01 PM ^
Quite sus indeed.
September 20th, 2021 at 5:52 PM ^
Schiano's just trying to butter Hart up into not running it down his throat all day long... it's going to be a long day for Schiano and Rutger.
September 20th, 2021 at 6:00 PM ^
Just another very well-respected head coach who likes Mike.
So Schiano goes from forum scumbag to "well respected" because he blew sunshine up Hart's ass?
September 20th, 2021 at 6:09 PM ^
Who cares if message board posters like him. Fans hate Meyer and Saban, etc.
Point is he is a very good coach and well respected amongst coaches.
September 20th, 2021 at 11:28 PM ^
Agreed. Rutgers is 3-0. And they damned near / should've beat us last season. Fuck, it's Rutger for cyring out loud. Schiano can coach. That I am certain.
September 20th, 2021 at 7:01 PM ^
Yeah, and if you don’t believe us, just ask the Tennessee fan base…
September 20th, 2021 at 8:06 PM ^
Because the Tennessee fan base is so reasonable and a good judge of competency and character?
September 20th, 2021 at 8:23 PM ^
Schiano would still be at Tennessee and their pain would be eased relative to what they have gone through since passing on him.
September 20th, 2021 at 10:19 PM ^
Speaking of Tennessee: brother in law is a huge fan and was on the Joe Milton hype train for the summer and first game. Poor bastard only realized what he was in for after the Pitt game.
September 20th, 2021 at 6:01 PM ^
Is Schiano well respected? He obviously did well at Rutger in his first go around and he’s a good recruiter but is he thought of to be a great coach?
September 20th, 2021 at 6:07 PM ^
Schiano did an Amazon Ng job at Rutgers his first go round.
He has been an NFL head coach.
He was a coordinator for Ohio State and turned down repeated job offers to be head coach.
He was Tennessee's choice for head coach, but fans wanted a sexier hire. He's probably better than the guy Tennessee ended up with.
He is doing well by Rutgers standards in his second go-around.
He's very well respected in the coaching field.
September 20th, 2021 at 6:30 PM ^
About Tennessee... Fans didn't necessarily want a 'sexier' hire, they wanted someone hired that didn't passively allow Jerry Sandusky to rape children in the locker room. Or, at least, not say anything about it while somebody else covered it up...
September 20th, 2021 at 6:47 PM ^
No one believes that lame alleged reason. It's like believing that a coach left to spend more time with their family because that's what they preferred.
Why is USC interested in schiano? Tennessee fans just have more morals!!!!
September 20th, 2021 at 7:54 PM ^
Judge Judy won’t allow anyone testifying to tell her what somebody knows. Even though there appears to be no legal standing for it, people love to do it. I suppose you can reasonably guess what someone knows, but can never be 100% certain. Jerk-offs can be so accusatory, even long after the accused are dead.
September 20th, 2021 at 9:04 PM ^
If this is the hill that you want to die on, go for it.
But USC is never hiring schiano! Absolutely never! their pres will not even discuss urban Meyer who is infinitely more successful.
And it surprises you that Tennessee fans have more moral fiber than OSU fans? I would take paying players(pruitt) any day before enabling a guy who kicks the shit out of his wife and is basically running a prison yard(meyer).
Just admit schiano is an average college coach who is absolutely untouchable by any program with any semblance of a backbone.
September 20th, 2021 at 8:19 PM ^
Schiano was a graduate assistant and I think a position coach for 1-2 years during the Sandusky era. Who would believe him if he did see something? Learning to coach, working for peanuts and starting a family and he is supposed to have a feel for the environment and know something is wrong? I don't know but I tend to believe him when he says he didn't know. He might have developed a feeling that Sandusky was creepy but what can you do with a feeling?
I have worked on two occasions with someone that was breaking the law (supplier kick-backs and embezzlement). I thought the people were despicable people but I was unable to help with the investigations that came later. FYI - some companies won't press charges but they will help the IRS determine the gains that were not reported.
September 21st, 2021 at 9:46 AM ^
The report was that he witnessed Sandusky raping a child in the showers and told McQueary.
September 20th, 2021 at 6:32 PM ^
Tennessee fans didn't want Schiano because his coaching at Penn St. overlapped with Jerry Sandusky's sexually assaulting boys.
September 20th, 2021 at 7:03 PM ^
Yeah, that's the ticket. Every single coach who overlapped with Sandusky lost their careers. Nobody will ever hire Schaino, especially not a Big Ten team. USC isn't expressing interest in him. Tom Bradley never worked again too. Its amazing.
September 20th, 2021 at 7:09 PM ^
If you're gonna give that history, don't you think you should mention that he was our first choice for Carr successor, accepted the job, and then called a day later and turned it down. Then we hired RR.
September 20th, 2021 at 7:11 PM ^
Good point.
September 20th, 2021 at 7:51 PM ^
Was he the choice over Miles? I was like 12 so I don’t remember the details very well.
September 20th, 2021 at 8:01 PM ^
I think Schiano was after Miles and before RR but Schiano wouldn't accept (pretty sure he was going to the pros.)
September 20th, 2021 at 8:49 PM ^
He stayed with Rutger through the 2011 season.
September 20th, 2021 at 8:11 PM ^
Yes, he is. The job he did with Rutgers the first time around was nothing short of phenomenal, given the garbage heap dumpster fire they’d been for their entire existence up to that point.
Not a great NFL HC at all, but a college coach? Yes he is. Always been curious as to what he could’ve done with a program that had a higher ceiling.
September 20th, 2021 at 8:49 PM ^
They were a garbage heap in the 90s, up to that point they were an up and down middling program. And his rise coincides with the departure of Miami and VaTech to the ACC. And they still managed only one 10+ win season. Then they joined the B1G and went from mostly meh to utter shit.
September 22nd, 2021 at 4:20 PM ^
Same as the rise of RR's W. Virginia program. Those here seemed to overlook that though. Seems like history has proven them wrong at least. Think RR will ever be at the helm of a major program again??
September 20th, 2021 at 6:03 PM ^
Being totally serious here…
Don’t know the time frame but Mike Hart will be our next head coach.
September 21st, 2021 at 6:08 AM ^
Hope he makes a stop a Coordinator first.
September 20th, 2021 at 6:04 PM ^
debate the OP's "well-respected" comment all you want, I'm just excited for a post that's not about the same number being on the field at the same time.

Fred Jackson said that Mike Hart was so fast he would get penalties for there being two #20s on the field at the same time.

Not at all ironical that we had two of the same post on the board at the same time about having two of the same number on the field at the same time. Or something.
Schiano for well-respected president! Or something.
September 20th, 2021 at 6:05 PM ^
Love you Coach Schiano! Go Blue!
September 20th, 2021 at 6:05 PM ^
I know the mgoPeople have mixed feelings about schiano, but I've noticed a lot of his public statements make me smile, and not just that he's complimenting Michigan. He's just refreshingly honest and seems to enjoy his press interactions
September 20th, 2021 at 6:08 PM ^
So very well-respected just ask Tennessee fans.
September 20th, 2021 at 6:11 PM ^
Tennessee fans wanted a bigger name. They ended up with a worse coach. Entitled tools.
September 20th, 2021 at 7:00 PM ^
It's fun to rag on Tennessee, but the main reason was not wanting somebody connected to the Sandusky mess at Penn State, which Schiano was.
September 20th, 2021 at 7:56 PM ^
It’s hilarious that you keep saying this, because it’s absolutely not true. There was a huge social media campaign and on-campus protests over the hire of Schiano completely centered around his alleged role in the Sandusky cover-up.
September 20th, 2021 at 8:13 PM ^
You can't be that naive. 100 people out of the hundreds of thousands, if not millions of Tennessee fans changed the world.
Ohio State couldn't even find 100 people who agreed with them, so they didn't fire him.
Rutgers was also immune to the tail wagging the dog.
Even now, USC in a very liberal state actively ignores the same issue which follows Schiano to this day.
Yes, only a small group of Tennessee fans are worth listening to....
...either that or UT fans were not excited about the proposed hire so they looked for a non-performance reason to cite.
I know which explanation makes sense.
September 20th, 2021 at 8:16 PM ^
Also, Brady Hoke was fired for playing a QB with a concussion, not because he was failing miserably as a coach.
September 20th, 2021 at 8:46 PM ^
100 people showed up for an in-person (and unplanned) protest. The online protests were far reaching. Reading is important.
September 20th, 2021 at 8:54 PM ^
Online cancel culture. Yup.
September 20th, 2021 at 10:59 PM ^
Can we cancel you?
September 21st, 2021 at 5:36 AM ^
The guy allegedly WITNESSED Sandusky raping a kid in the locker room showers, told McQueary but never reported it to the authorities.
But sure, darn that cancel culture. HEAVY eye roll.
