Saturday night drankin' thread

Happy Summer everyone! I am enjoying a distorted Porter by Greenbush (little Podunk town in SW Michigan near where I grew up). Solid brewery. How is everyone's weekend going? Be well!

I'm sitting here drinking a Grape Powerade zero, watching the Tigers. I'm about to eat a steak the size of Nebraska, and after dinner I'll be enjoying a Founders Centennial IPA. And then I'll play Battlefield 4 on my ps4.

I don't have anything fancy tonight - I have been enjoying a generous helping of Angry Orchard Traditional Dry Cider since about the middle of the Nigeria-Bosnia match and now with the Tigers game. Until a few moments ago, I was actually doing all this while sitting on the porch on what has been a very nice evening as well, the first day without rain in a while.

Living in KY I can recommend any Colonel Taylor, Weller 12 year (impossible to find Here, plentiful in other states), Elijah Craig 18 year / barrel proof, any of the Buffalo Trace antique collection (eg, Eagle rare 17 year), any pappy (at retail price, good luck finding it), and bookers.

carp.  The carton containing the 4-pack has the traditional illustration of trout you always find on the bottles and 6-pack, but on the can, it looks like a couple of weird carp doing some weird mating ritual or something.  Seriously.  Take a good look at the 16-oz can and tell me what you see.

The contents were as good as ever, though.

About to crack a Bruery Trade Winds. If it's anything like the rest of their beer, I'll be very happy.

but have one question---when did they change the name of the little town of Sawyer to Greenbush?  I must have missed it in the Herald-Palladium (which isn't surprising since I haven't subscribed to it in about 5 years or so).

You're right about Greenbush being a solid brewery, though.  I've liked everything of theirs I've tried so far, but have a lot more to try yet, including the Porter you mentioned in your OP.

And 5 oz of formula to make the little guy pass out. Then I can bring out the big guns.
