I think that is subjective to be honest. A Christmas Story is not particularly “Christmas-y” either. It is almost anti-Christmas, basically presenting it as trauma. (the celebration that is, not the religious basis for it).

Christmas movies do not have to be about Christmas. They just need to evoke Christmas feels. Diehard does that. Hell, even Lethal Weapon does that.
