He has stated that he will still have his “gut feelings”. Gut feelings means the kid or kids parents told him the kid is going to commit, crystal ball means he feels strongly that a kid will commit but not confirmed by kid or parent.

So the infamous gut feeling does mean that Sam has multiple sources and more or less knows, but he's always made a big deal of letting the kids make their own announcements and that it specifically isn't the kid saying he's going to X school.   Am I naive and is the gut feel really just code for the kid told me?  Am I missing Sam's subtext?

According to my calculations we are getting a great class for next year. I would explain to everyone how I came up with this but it's really long and boring... just picture dad and son with internet access and oodles of wisdom on how to use it. Yeah, were football nerds and we're ok with it.

this is his second crystal ball pick, not his first.

Sam's first crystal ball pick was Shea Patterson.

Van Sumeran has a good chance of being the Mgosleeper of this class.

He's a baller. Same division, i believe as state POY is from. If not, one division under. Catches the football naturally and with ease and I can envision him being a bitch to bring down on a wheel route when he's running down the sideline with a full head of steam. Take that size and speed and it won't be easy. Anyone that catches that many throws a year is doing something right and I think his abilities were shown with first catch when he just stuck up his paw as if it were as natural as his next step, pulled it in and contined into the end zone.

Glad Harbaugh found him and after he's done his mandatory time on STs, I can see him coming in motion to give Peters/McCaff and Shea outstanding protection along with Ben. That's a couple good size pass blockers.  I like him.
