Saban is just a good guy looking out for his players (Not!)
NOT.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft2011/news/story?id=5938951
I am sure him getting to retain these guys for one more year and making another run at NC never crossed his mind....he is just looking out for their best interests. If he needs to cut a few others from the team to make room...no biggie.

Man!.....look, Saban looks just like Joe Dirt.
December 20th, 2010 at 1:20 PM ^
the hell is Sylvester Croom doing in the back ground
December 20th, 2010 at 1:38 PM ^
Haha... Sylvester Croom just creepin in the background is killing me
EDIT: Was beaten to it, didnt scroll down far enough just hit reply. To make up for it I present to you, a funny cat...
December 20th, 2010 at 4:13 PM ^
Bravo!
Made my day...I am all smiles now. Thank you!
December 20th, 2010 at 12:35 PM ^
Hey whats a few million dollars, if the guy blows his knee out his senior year ,so be it.
December 20th, 2010 at 2:24 PM ^
Saban knows how to use the internets and he might not find us humorous once he finds our posts!
December 20th, 2010 at 12:38 PM ^
that unbiased ESPN/SEC thing goin on
December 20th, 2010 at 12:44 PM ^
have the players best interest in mind? The agents are going to lose big money if rookie contracts and bonuses are unremarkable. Money talks…I think agents will have the upper hand in that argument.
Either way, I'm hoping they stay so in 2012 we have their [underclassmen] lack of experience on our side.
December 20th, 2010 at 12:46 PM ^
.....a minor league farm system for the NFL. Sure, they have great players in the conference, and football overall is good in the SEC, but they do not prepare, nor do they care to prepare their athletes, for any sort of life beyond the sport.
How much do I hate the SEC itself? I would support my son/daughter going to tOSU over any school in the SEC(save for maybe Vanderbilt).
December 20th, 2010 at 1:46 PM ^
till you got to the whole sending your kids to tOSU part
December 20th, 2010 at 8:22 PM ^
... do it.
December 20th, 2010 at 8:22 PM ^
.......what I was trying to say.
I would disown my kids if they ever went to, or became fans of tOSU. However, I would rather they went to tOSU than any SEC school. THAT is how much I hate the SEC!
December 20th, 2010 at 12:46 PM ^
How is Saban incorrect in his assessment?
And who would be complaining here about this article if you replaced "Nick Saban" with "Rich Rodriguez"?
Gee whiz.
December 20th, 2010 at 12:52 PM ^
I never said he was factually wrong, only that his spiel about him being worried about their future development (due to possible lack of off-season workouts) is bullcrap.
December 20th, 2010 at 12:55 PM ^
This isn't some heinous offense, if RR said the same thing we'd give him a pat on the back. my point is, Saban's done a lot worse in his days.
December 20th, 2010 at 12:58 PM ^
There are plenty of legitimate reasons to dislike Saban. This is not one of them
December 20th, 2010 at 8:26 PM ^
.....along the lines of "caring for the kid's futures" is extremely hypocritical, considering his oversigning of kids. That is what is at issue here, not the actual fact of what he says in the article.
December 20th, 2010 at 12:53 PM ^
This should be labled OT
December 20th, 2010 at 12:56 PM ^
Here is a direct quote from the FAQ:
What is OnTopic
"Anything related to other Big Ten teams or upcoming opponents"
December 20th, 2010 at 1:12 PM ^
No, THIS should be labeled OT:
December 20th, 2010 at 1:25 PM ^
This vexes me. I'm terribly vexed.
December 20th, 2010 at 1:27 PM ^
Just watched that movie yesterday. One of my favorites of all time.
December 20th, 2010 at 2:54 PM ^
Then my job here is done.
December 20th, 2010 at 1:33 PM ^
I don't really understand - whether this is on or off topic - what the point of the OT label is. If in reading the Titles it's not clear what the post contains then I get it. If it says that Saban is a tool it seems it's pretty clear what the post is about and each person can determine if that's on or off topic enough.
The use of OT when something is clearly OT adds nothing in my opinion.
December 20th, 2010 at 12:55 PM ^
but I think I might agree with Nick.
(just this one time)
December 20th, 2010 at 12:58 PM ^
December 20th, 2010 at 1:34 PM ^
That's hilarious.
December 20th, 2010 at 2:22 PM ^
Saban's just a player's coach - just like Dantonio is a DISCIPLINARIAN.
Matt Millen said it, so you know it's true....
December 20th, 2010 at 2:45 PM ^
So they all stay and 2012 is the rebuilding or reloading year. Thats cool too, I want to beat Bama so damn bad.
December 20th, 2010 at 3:30 PM ^
If he is truly worried about whether the players are going to be adequately prepared then why wouldn't he say that he will advise those players who need more preparation not to enter the draft. Where the players are projected, (top half 1st round) is mostly about talent in the NFL. I just don't get his team's evaluation process if the major concern here is not attending OTA's and mini camp.
December 20th, 2010 at 3:51 PM ^
What Saban is saying makes total sense.
