Rose Bowl - predict your winner

Submitted by M-Wolverine on
It's a little early, but ever mention of OSU, Oregon, Pryor, or just about anything else seems to garner a "OSU is going to get killed" or "people are underestimating OSU". So let's hear it- who do you think is going to win, why, and if you care, by how much? Not to ask and not back it up, while I am a little worried about Pryor's leg (and arm...and head...), I'll stick with my original talk and say the continual underestimating of OSU and everyone telling Oregon how much they're going to win by is going to put out the up and down Ducks, and OSU's defense keeps it close enough for a big bowl game score to take the lead at the end. They almost did it against Texas, and will unfortunately pull it out against the lesser Oregon team, ending years of delicious failure in big bowl games. Not sure on points, but I'll begrudgingly say 23-21.

As much as I hate the Buckeyes and want only terrible things for them, the situation is a win-win in a way. If they lose, then they suck again and we can make fun of their inability to win in bowl games. If they win, it makes the Big Ten look good and we can just attribute their win to the law of averages, because when you play enough of these games you have to eventually win one right?....maybe not, but we'll see soon and i'll be rooting hard for the Ducks. Prediction: Oregon 27, Ohio State 10

44-17 I hope it's worse than that, but it might be closer say 33-17. Oregon will dominate and Pryor will se speed he hasn't seen all season. He will throw at least three picks and fumble at least once.

I played this game on NCAA Football 10 as OSU on Heisman difficulty....never even broke a sweat. OSU's DEs were way too fast and had Masoli eating turf all game long. In real life though, OSU, 28-21

I played the whole season on ncaa10 as michigan on heisman and won the national championship but that didn't happen in real life. osu will lose to Oregon because Pryor is way overrated in ncaa10 and in real life osu has blown it in bcs games the last few years.

This reminds me of all the posts before the season where people kept coming on here and posting about their games and how they'd won so decisively. It's a sign, folks! I did it on my video game! Heavenly creatures came to me in my dreams and told me that if I can push the buttons at just the right time, and angle my joystick in just the right direction, it will provide many truths about the future!

I can't see the boring vest winning this one. Sad to say, I'll also take LSU over the White Zombies and Tech Tech in a blowout.

The Ducks will give OSU a preview of what they'll be dealing with for the next decade, and shred em. It probably won't be a complete blow-out, but I would be surprised if its within 14 points.

If Tressel plays his boring 'ol Tressel ball they get blown out in the 2nd half and the ducks win by multiple scores. If he opens up the playbook and allows TP to get out of the pocket they could win a close one. My money says that Tressel does NOT trust TP at all so he will not open up the offense, especially if his knee really is injured.

Oregon 31 OSU 21 OSU can't defend the spread for crap. They're gonna lose another bowl game. Oregon's going to preview what Michigan will look like in the next few years. Have fun TP!

gets an erection everytime he sends the punter out on fourth and 1 from midfield with a chance to pin the opponent inside the twenty. He will go limp very quickly if Oregon can break a couple big plays early. His sorry ass arm-punter of a QB has no chance of getting his team back in a game after falling behind. I'm saying Schmucks 38 Schmuckeyes 16 (tressel also gets major wood from the field goal unit). I dont care what people say about the Big 10, afterall a Big 10 where Michigan finishes tied for last IS a sorry thing. Therefore, I am rooting for Brutus to shit themselves in embarrassing fashion.

oregon didnt impress besides the USC game. i mean, come on, 55 points to Stanford? they still win though because OSU sucks. i'll say 27-17 Oregon.

If OSU can contain the run then it should be a fairly close game. Masoli is a capable passer but tends to be inconsistent. I still think the Ducks win this one 28-21. OSU just doesn't have an easy time putting up points and I think not having Ray Small impacts their starting field position whether it be kick-offs or punts. OSU has a very sound defense which keeps them in it.

This would be oSU's best shot in a BCS bowl of the last few years, but unless Sweatervest engineers some new wrinkles in the offense, it will get ugly. I think he will. Oregon 28 oSU 21 Madtown, I think Tressel will remain flaccid all afternoon.

I think this is a good match-up for OSU actually. If Boise State was too physical in the trenches for Oregon then they're really not going to like playing the Bucks. I think this game will resemble that game a lot, Oregon's offense line gets dominated and the backs can never get anything going. And if the post-game resembles the Boise State game... well then we're all winners.

I'm also in the small camp that thinks this is not a cake walk for Oregon. Let's see what Masoli does when he isn't playing a horrid Pac-10 defense. OSU 28 Oregon 24
