| 14 hours 8 min ago | I almost always play a pass |
I almost always play a pass rusher because I find it impossible to accurately judge angle and depth as a defender when the camera is behind the QB. Playing there last night the demo compared well to the last version of this I had (201) wheres DTs were the best pass rushers in the game in this demo. I don't actually recall from UFR's, what schemes does Mattison use on mobile QBs? I know we tried the VT-style defense against Miller in 2011 where the corners had two deep zones and the safeties played a very shallow cover one. In any case, does anyone know of any release date sales for this year's version? I think I want to pick it up, but it's hard to swallow that $60 price tag. |
| 16 hours 58 min ago | The one thing I wish I could |
The one thing I wish I could do with the coverage is find some way to make the defenders read run/pass a bit faster. I've tried playing Cover 4 with my safeties showing blitz in order to replicate the defenses that Sparty has used the past few years to try and shut down Denard with little success. I mean...it is very difficult to defend the legs of someone like Braxton Miller without weakening your pass D's responsiilities, but I would like the game to let me try it with something other than blitzing on every down. Had a lot of fun playing with Oregon and TAMU's offenses, though! The read option is MUCH improved. |

I hatehatehatehatehatehatehatehatehate the 70-player roster limit. Why not just decrease the total number of yearly scholarship or cut you off from getting another commitment once you've reached the limit? There's a million things in these games that drive me crazier (hello flying linebackers), but that one really stick in my craw for whatever reason.
Anyway, I guess I might buy this year because...Denard? |

I am reading this as a real farm where Dr. Hamlet III can be with his own kind, rather than the euphamistic farm up north. In either case, I hope he is well! |

I know that millions and millions of tourists disagree, but Florida is one of the last places in the country I would want to go for anything. The scenery is swamps and there's absolutely no history to any of the large cities in that state. Blech. |

He got passed at every position he could contribute at by players 2-3 years younger than him. Writing was on the wall. Still mind-blowing how many kids from that 2010 class washed out. Good thing the 2012 and 2013 classes seem to be filled to bursting with instant contributors! |
| 10 weeks 6 days ago | Ebert had a greater influence |
Ebert had a greater influence on me than any other writer. When I was in high school his "Great Movies" essays were my avenue into understanding film, eventually inspiring me to study it in college and teach it in a community college here in Chicago. His presence was enormous and his views on the function and value of film and film criticism are still the backbones of what I do. It will be one of the great regrets of my life that I never got to meet or communicate with the man myself. |

| 38 weeks 1 day ago | It was my understanding that |
It was my understanding that the Ohio game only eclipsed the Chicago matchup in the late teens. From the formation of the Big Ten in the 90's to WWI the Michigan-Chicago matchup was a huge deal. Speaking as a Chicago alum and Michigan fan, I felt like I saw/read more stuff about the old Michigan games around Hyde Park than any other team. It would have been cool if Chicago and Northwestern had merged (as was talked about during WWII), and made the combined school into a real regional powerhouse. 1905:

Actually, on second thought, it's a shame that Tennessee is full. I think Spencer Hall called them the Michigan of the South, which sounds right in some respects. Also, we could settle that 1997 bullshit. |
| 38 weeks 1 day ago | Honestly, I'd like this |
Honestly, I'd like this oppourtunity to completely fill the ND void and see if we can't get an annual or semi-annual rivalry cross-sectional rivalry established. If ND wants to play USC and Stanford so badly, why don't we reach out to UCLA, Cal, Oregon, or Washington? It would mean our non-conference has at least one interesting game every year, which is what ND provided. |
| 38 weeks 4 days ago | I know I just told youto |
I know I just told youto chill up the thread, but this post is just profoundly stupid. Denard is and should be the alpha and omega of our offensive production. He owns the Michigan record for total offense, and you want him to be replaced by a 3 star Redshirt Freshman who has never completed a pass? That is sinfully stupid and reductive thinking. |
| 38 weeks 4 days ago | Denard's mistakes were |
Denard's mistakes were definitely the difference in the game, but most people remember the 29 other games he has started for us. Remember those? Do you recall how he has the ability to make the entire college football universe catch their breath and propel our side to victory. He can be frustrating, but he's not alone in that. Chill out and report back when Denard is making Big Ten defenses look silly. |

Financial aid in the form of federally backed, privately-run student loans are also creating a whole world of problems in the country. There's now more student loan debt than credit card debt in the US, and it is working in tandem with the recessions to keep the youngest generation of workers from saving and spedning like their predeccsors. |
| 39 weeks 18 hours ago | Just to fact-check you real |
Just to fact-check you real quick: The average cost of attending a 4-year institution of higher learning in 2010-11 was $21,657 (http://nces.ed.gov/fastfacts/display.asp?id=76) Annual wages for someone working a minimum wage job (which is about right for most college students), at 40 hours a week, every week is $15,080 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minimum_wage_law#United_States)
That's a different is $6,577. So the first thrust of your argument is very wrong. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make with the rest of your statement, but your perception of how much higher education costs is very off. |
| 41 weeks 3 days ago | Absolutely correct |
The OP is absolutely correct. It's not whining or making excuses, but Michigan does not and should not run its program like Alabama does. We will be extremely good under Hoke, but we will never be more loaded with talent than the Jacksonville Jaguars. That's perfectly fine, because we will still win Big Ten titles and Rose Bowls, and do it with our heads held high. |
