Farewell, Norm.
September 14th, 2021 at 2:56 PM ^
Oh man that's too damn bad. I absolutely adored Norm MacDonald
Rest in Peace

September 14th, 2021 at 2:56 PM ^
That guy was hilarious and stared the PC culture dead in the face and told it to "fuck off". He's a legend.
September 14th, 2021 at 4:46 PM ^
LoL when people say PC culture
September 14th, 2021 at 4:49 PM ^
Obligatory
September 14th, 2021 at 5:55 PM ^
The most overused and least understood word in the English language is fascism.
September 14th, 2021 at 6:15 PM ^
yea, ironic isn't it?!
September 14th, 2021 at 7:31 PM ^
It’s almost like people using the word “ironic” don’t actually get what it means.
September 14th, 2021 at 7:37 PM ^
That’s the joke.gif
September 14th, 2021 at 8:08 PM ^
He literally killed the joke.
September 14th, 2021 at 7:31 PM ^
No, that's "socialism."
September 14th, 2021 at 8:25 PM ^
I like Carlin but this is nuts on several levels
September 14th, 2021 at 8:49 PM ^
Then perhaps you can look up what folks like Dave Chappelle, Ricky Gervias, etc. and just about every other comedian says about PC culture. They all pretty much say the same thing.
One of my other favorites is from the comedian Steven Hughes.
“Political correctness is the oppression of our intellectual movement so no says anything anymore in case someone gets offended”
September 14th, 2021 at 11:48 PM ^
Before I do that you should Google fascism. It might make you sad
September 15th, 2021 at 6:38 AM ^
I don’t understand. Why would it make me sad?
September 15th, 2021 at 1:43 PM ^
Because fascism has killed millions of people and PC culture hasn’t
September 15th, 2021 at 1:58 PM ^
Well duh! I don't like fascism, but using terms like fascism etc is not uncommon as part of a simile or metaphor for effect.
For example. "The workplace culture is totally cancerous". Cancer has killed millions, but workplace culture has not.
September 15th, 2021 at 11:27 PM ^
Well the problem is that it doesn't work as hyperbole either.
You mentioned Dave Chappelle and Ricky Gervias. Neither of them have been significantly held back by the PC police. In his last few specials, Dave has used homophobic and sexists slurs and did what most would agree is an offensive caricature of an Asian person. In his own words, "the t(ransgendered people)'s hate my guts". Dude won the Mark Twain Prize. He's doing fine.
Ricky can't host the Golden Globes anymore? That's a pity because he was brilliant but he'll survive.
Tina Fey wrote blackface characters on 30 Rock that were taken down. There is a point in your favor that PC police literally cancelled something but that's two episodes. She also won the Mark Twain prize.
Louis CK used to use the N word in his stand up but that didn't cancel him. His creepiness did him in.
Some of the most un PC people in the country, Ben Shapiro and Tucker Carlson, have accumulated enormous wealth, fame and influence despite the loathing they inspire by people like me. Even Alex Jones is still finding ways to spread his message.
Chik Fil A and Hobby Lobby are still doing well. Donald Trump, the most cancelled president since JFK in Dallas, is still extremely popular with his base and will be the GOP nominee in 2024 if he wants to be.
Hell, Joe Biden isn't considered PC, but he dominated the primary of the party of political correctness and won the general election easily.
And, to bring it full circle, Norm did all manner of un PC things in his career and he has been universally mourned. So i'm having a hard time imagine why PC culture has been oppressive, but I am always willing to listen to counterpoints (or would it be counterpunts?).
September 16th, 2021 at 8:52 AM ^
I don’t think you understand. All these people are successful because they told the PC culture and it’s adjuncts to pound sand (among other things).
I never mentioned once they were “cancelled”
September 16th, 2021 at 10:46 PM ^
Okay so the PC police don't actually have any power.
Fascists actually successfully persecute people who refuse to bend the knee
September 14th, 2021 at 9:58 PM ^
Huh?
So nuts, it perfectly true.
Carlin just breaks it all down so nicely.
September 14th, 2021 at 11:51 PM ^
“Waah I got criticized for screaming the N word at black people this is just line Nazi Germany”
September 15th, 2021 at 6:46 AM ^
Then you’ll love this other gem from George Carlin
September 14th, 2021 at 10:11 PM ^
Ok boomer
September 14th, 2021 at 6:50 PM ^
PC culture does exist. My favorite is those that act like it doesn't.
September 14th, 2021 at 8:01 PM ^
Yeah, fuck people who try to be aware of potential sensitivities. Let's tell more rape jokes!
(The people who use the term "politically correct" to make fun of those who think we should avoid mocking the weak are the assholes).
September 14th, 2021 at 8:23 PM ^
Are you calling me an asshole?! Well, I’m offended! I demand an apology and the lose of your job!

RIP Norm.
September 14th, 2021 at 3:00 PM ^
Damn, RIP.
Attended a non-religious wedding where one of the readings with this moth joke (for some reason), and it was super entertaining to find the people that knew what this was from, and have the rest of the crowd with a bunch of WTF looks on their face.
September 14th, 2021 at 3:06 PM ^
That's great!
September 14th, 2021 at 3:08 PM ^
So sad. One of the funniest comedians of this era and I LOVED just about everything he did. Especially these - RIP Norm - you were one of the great ones.
September 14th, 2021 at 3:16 PM ^
Nobody better than Turd Ferguson.
September 14th, 2021 at 3:39 PM ^
I was so sad when I joined this site and discovered that someone else had already grabbed Turd Ferguson as a user name.
September 14th, 2021 at 4:25 PM ^
I was in a cycling race where all the cyclists signed in on a giant board. I signed in as Turd Ferguson. Great name.
September 14th, 2021 at 3:33 PM ^
"you are correct." - I just loved his delivery.
I'm gonna go watch some Billy Madison now.
September 14th, 2021 at 6:08 PM ^
That’s gold. Only Norm could have pulled off that joke/story and had it be that hilarious.
September 14th, 2021 at 6:12 PM ^
And the andy richter joke
September 14th, 2021 at 2:59 PM ^
I watch his ESPY joke about OJ, directed at Charles Woodson, about once a year when I need a really good laugh. RIP.
September 14th, 2021 at 3:07 PM ^
To save other folks from having to look that one up:

If the basketball team wasn't doing so well, I'd suggest they use the same method as the Cowboys. It's been working for Kansas for a long time.
September 14th, 2021 at 7:04 PM ^
I only have this to add and I think Norm would like it:
I was watching the news while on vacation a few years back. They were interviewing someone from OJ’s prison. “How is OJ as an inmate?” they asked. “Oh, model prisoner, great guy, great guy, leads the other prisoners in sports, does the jobs he’s asked to do, never get’s in fights or causes trouble, so like I said model prisoner.” Do you think he killed Nicole and Ron Goldman?” “Oh yea, 100%.”
