Review Question

Submitted by Ziff72 on

What was up with the refs not reviewing the non interception on Tate and then springing into action on the non fumble?

It appeared the OSU fans were getting a good view of the replay as they groaned on the fumble.  Did Buckeye Bob kill the replay on the interception?

That was a special dong punch to start the half.

There were a lot of wierd calls in this game. The holding call on that 98 yard td I thought was weak, the encroachment on Stokes was stupid.

Nontheless it didn't impact the game at all, but it was still some pathetic refing.

I'm not sure why they didn't but at that point I was using every four letter word I know that at that review official. Pretty sure my neighbors could have called the police with a noise complaint at that point if they wanted to.

Okay, the celebration penalties AFTER they scored, the penalties for unsportsmanlike, which were off setting, the holding penalty on the long return, which was questionable but yeah, OSU gets the ball like first and 10 on our 19. Nothing that really interfered with them running their game. Our penalties might of been spot on but they were drive killers, like that hold on the long pass play that came back.

I'm not saying the refereeing cost us the game, but come on, to say the penalties called on us were as bad as the ones the Bucks were hit with, well I disagree.

yes, plenty. i'd be fucking furious if they called that celebration or holding penalty on us.

also, apparently i think you're getting ahead of yourself. i never said "the penalties called on us were as bad as the ones the Bucks were hit with"

On a ton of calls.  But, let's be real, we lost by thirty.  I thought we played pretty decenty, but all the positive officiating in the world couldn't have saved this.  Let's save the bitching about refs for a time it makes a difference.

All in all a pretty terrible game by the officials for both sides. Even Matt Derp and Sean McDummy said as much.

Our problems were: 1. no kicker for FG, 2. Fumble at 10 after Ray drop, 3. Shank Punt, 4. KO, 5. Illegal procedure by freshman, 6. Second half.

honestly, i thought the refs were fine. i didn't see them as huge factors in the game and thought the bulk of calls they made were right. like just about every other game, both teams could lay claim to some questionable calls, but - honestly - who gives a shit? they weren't one-sided or favorable to OSU or UM.

let's not be "that" fan base. we got hosed because we shot ourselves in the foot and played a much better team.

the refs helped take us out of the game today in the early going.  1. weak holding call on shilling negating a huge play

2. weak offsides call on stonum, i think, before the ball was snapped.  never seen that before.

3. weak call on jackson not being set.  again, you almost never see that.

4. the non-call on the interference on 4th down.

5. not reviewing the "non" interception.

those calls stopped drives and dug us our hole.  it was only after OSU took a significant lead when the makeup calls started.  i'm not saying we win or were the better team, but the game would have been a bit more interesting.

Due to all this losing, I'm thinking of giving up everything to become a sheep herder.  What are some good reasons why I shouldn't walk the countryside chewing grass and listening to the wind blow?
