Remember last year

“Don't fear failure. — Not failure, but low aim, is the crime. In great attempts it is glorious even to fail.” - Bruce Lee

That was last year. That is what we need again. We cannot "go quietly into the night." We may not win, but we must fight. This is Ohio F*#$%#g State. This is The Game. Stop being a bunch of whiners and remember, at the end of the day, we are the Maize and Blue. We support the Team, the Team, the Team. And at the end of the day, we aren't a bunch of mouth-breathers in Columbus, OH.

Go Blue!

before this game - in the good old days.  Now, I don't at all because I've become indifferent to us being uncompetitive, sad as that sounds.  We have zero chance of winning this game and will probably get destroyed no matter how hard I cheer and yell at the TV.  Like 2010, I'll probably do other things, check in once in a while to see how it's going, and occasionally dream of the day (hopefully soon) when Michigan has a team on par with Ohio again.

These days I care more about the in state rivalry. You old timers are used to looking past MSU and focusing all of your efforts on Ohio St. In my days we get our asses kicked by Spartans and that should be our focus. Now that that game is over I'm numb to all other losses included Ohio St. We can't run with those big dogs... Go Blue!
The Game is on tonight at 10pm!

Or so they keep saying.  I try to point out to PSU fans that say OSU and PSU are rivals that our relationship is partly open.  You are a bit slutty with your in-state hookup, but there is hope since your catholic whore dumped you.  We are virtuous, forgiving, monogamous and only have eyes for you.  I guess if you want three rivals PSU might fit the ND slot nicely.

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Old age shall burn and rave you at the close of day.

Rage, Rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men know when dark is right.

Because their hearts and words were true in every way.

They do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the past teams, crying how bright.

Their frail deeds may have stood, but only time will say.

Rage, Rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang of ball in flight.

And learn too late that they must seize the day.

Do not go gentle into that good night.

.

Grave alumni, near death, see with blinding sight.

Blind eyes that can blaze like meteors today.

Rage, Rage against the dying of the light.

And you, Bo, up there on that sad height.

Curse, bless me now with the fierce words you say.

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Rage, Rage against the dying of the light.

With due appologies to Dylan Thomas

on the ideals of the program. And in this program, you are accountable for yourself and to your teammates. You measure your contribution both by performance and perserverance.

I became a Michigan fan in 1069 when Michigan beat the team that nobody thought could be beaten by any college team, let alone most pro teams.

When I moved to Ann Arbor in the 90's, I got an up close and personal relationship with the program which I have sustained despite moving away from that lovely little community and campus. While I was there, I got to experience the Michigan we talk about in platitudes, witnessed the performances that now define in our current collective memory the great days of Michigan character on those gray, slate days of late November when the Wolverines and Buckeyes battled.

Michigan was mostly always the underdog as it will again be Saturday. But records were meaningless on that third or now fourth Saturday in November, because it was The Game. And if you won that game, then you didn't need to justify the rest of the season, it got justified in a three-hour performance that matters more than any other contest --ever, on any given Saturday. Well, most Saturdays. Times have indeed changed.

Fast forward to today. Our beleagured coach knows the shared memories of past glory in Columbus. Our DC does as well. But the guys they coach don't know what it takes to win in Columbus, the ugliest and most foul football town in America. And if our coach wants to leave the stage at Michigan with deep and admiring recognition, he will summon whatever motivational skill and ability to direct his team in one last grand battle, not for redemption, but for purification of the Michigan way. Michigan builds character in the teams and players it puts on the field. It's time for Hoke's team to manifest that character and win one for the program.

I am tired of all the dsicrimination mouth breathers get. What if I have a cold? Am I supposed to just DIE?! If I have a cold on Saturday, am I supposed to root for OSU?

It's so funny when some dick sitting at his computer at home writes a speech thinking he is William Wallace or some shit and it goes over like a fart in church.

I love when that happens.

We stink in enemy stadiums, especially against good teams. No chance Saturday. Unless we're unpredictable offensively. If we are then I will be ticked because why now. Where was this back then. I hope we're unpredictable. No chance. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Yeah!

That was so awesome to ALMOST win against Ohio State -- it was SO CLOSE!!!  While there were many great memories made during last season, especially during our 3-5 conference stretch, that game against Ohio State that we came close to winning but lost definitely tops them all!!!  Just think how great it will be if we nearly stick it to them again this year!!!  I'll be like, "almost take that, F*ckeyes!!!  Yeah!!!"

Maybe you don't remember 42-7 and 37-7? I do.

It'd be nice to move past the moral-victory stage to a point where wins in the series were expected, but since Carr retired outright humiliation has been more common than victory. If we're going for two in the closing seconds with a chance of a win tomorrow I'm going to think it was a good performance, regardless.

I hate to say it, but I don't think there's any game plan that can compensate for the lack of playmakers. Michigan had one last year in Jeremy Gallon. This year there is a long-since-checked-out Devin Funchess.
