Recruiting weekend vs Heisman Announcement

Submitted by moetown91 on

I know coach is known to be everywhere all the time.  With the Heisman announcement on Saturday night I beleive it is customary that Coaches are in attendance for the announcement supporting their candidate.  Soooo,  is coach in NY or is he in A2 wooing all of our future 5 stars?

If Jim's previous travel insanity is any indication, he'll hang with recruits in the morning, catch a 3-4 pm flight to NYC, and attend the 8 pm event

He's in NY with Peppers for the ceremony.

I don't think its any coincidence that the biggest recruiting weekend of the off-season and the Heisman ceremony, where a Michigan player and head coach will be paraded around on national tv, overlap. He'll probably fly out there Saturday morning/afternoon, attend the ceremony, and fly back that night.

Harbaugh's in AA Friday through Saturday afternoon, times departure on the private jet to get there in time for the ceremony, fly back that night, see the recruits late Sat. night and a bit Sunday morning before they head home. That window of time they spend with other coaches and guys on the team . . . you can't be with Harbaugh 247 anyway.

Now what would be mega cool would if it weren't a recruiting violation to bring Najee Harris (bring all of them?) along to NYC. Visit on the plane, go to the Heisman, and then all head back to AA. Now that would be a pretty great recruiting tool! Creative, and would get more complaints out there. More "crazy Jimmy" comments from other coaches and schools. . . ok, I know it can't

Flight is probably an hour and a half...he can leave after lunch, be in NYC for interviews and Heisman fluff. Do the ceremony and fly back at night or first thing in the morning to make the closing pitch to the recruits.

I'd say Partridge could hold it down Saturday night, but he's probably going to be in NYC as well.

Looks like it'll be Jay, Coach Wheat and the boys.

Ha, hadn't even thought of this before you pointed it out. What incredible timing. Pretty baller to tell the recruits amassed in Schembechler Hall Saturday morning that he has to catch a jet to NYC to support Peppers at the Heisman, then be back with them for breakfast Sunday morning. Sort of what Urban did two years ago when he spent his entire halftime vs. Oregon calling all of his recruits. That seemed to work out pretty well....

We did invite Coach Harbaugh and his wife to my daughter's Bat Mitzvah this weekend.  I suppose I'd rather he make it to the big recruiting weekend and/or the Heisman ceremony...

Our son is now 15 years past his bris...and we are all set with our current pair of kids.

This probably doesn't really qualify as a CSB, but the mohel who performed the circumcision on my son at his bris was arrested for drunk driving somewhat shortly after our son's bris.  If I recall correctly, he was on his way to or from a bris.  We are not over-protective parents, but we did take our son to the pediatrician shortly after we heard the news about the arrest...just to make sure our little guy's "little guy" was ok.

Too bad he can't take the recruits with him on the private jet to NYC and back. He'd close on every commitment and they would have the commitment video on the plane. Or why can't he if it's part of the recruiting weekend package.

The 8 minute flight from LGA to midtown beats Manhattan traffic. The helipad is on the Hudson, so he could charter a boat and get within two blocks of the NY Athletic club, although a hovercraft would eliminate the walk and make for a good entrance.
