Harbaugh has had almost no time to recruit and has already flipped a few people and has more thinking seriously about a school they wouldn't give the time of day last November.  This all bodes extremely well for the future.  There are enough players on the team to win ten games in 2015.  By then, Harbaugh will have been on some of the 2016 guys for close to a year.  That's when the first big class comes in.

Bottom line: Harbaugh has made opposing coaches afraid of Michigan again and they haven't even had a practice.

Not sure the point of your reply. I agree that what Harbaugh has done has been impressive already, and will be more impressive on NSD. 2016 and the future look very bright.

I really liked Booker. Too bad. That's it. There's nothing negative about it. It is what it is. Move on.

No shit Don.  It absolutely amazes me that people do not seem to understand that many of these recruits he's trying to flip have had relationships with the coaches & schools they are committed to for seveal years.  He's trying (and actually sometimes succeeding) to do in 30 days what other guys have had 2-3 years to get done.

Harbaugh recruiting this year is basically a guy  starting a marathon when every other runner is at the 19 mile mark.  And while he's managed to catch a LOT of the runners he's not able to overtake the leaders (yet) and people wonder what's wrong.

Next year when he starts the recruiting race at the same time everybody else does this will be a whole different story.  You can bank on it.

Who is saying that this crammed recruiting cycle is a reflection on Harbaugh's true recruiting abilities? Other than you, of course. It feels more like you're trying to convince yourself there isn't a problem, I don't see anyone else fretting over the long term prognosis.

I'm not going to worry at all about this NSD.  We'll get some guys, but no one we get or don't get is going to make or break this team's potential next year.  We have more than enough talent in-house right now to win 9 or even 10 games possibly.   2016 will be the first great class under JH and it will be worth waiting for.

Read the article - he sounds like a quality kid and Wisconsin has been very involved with him for a long time now helping to better him on a personal front.  So he made a mature decision and cannot fault him for not wasting anyone's time.

We will get Clark, he was already committed.  If we can pull a couple other 4 stars away we can slavage this class and that will be a huge achievement considering this staff has only been together for a few weeks.

Question for Mgobloggers....who pays for the offical visits?  Can a school make any contribution or does the financial burden fall fully on the recruits (SEC recruiting excluded, of course)?

Pays for everything.  I'm not sure if each school has a budget to work with, but the school pays for flights, hotels, meals, etc all during the trip.  Unofficial visits the player has to pay for everything.

Well hell,

Not a huge surprise, but disappointing nonetheless.

Looking forward to seeing what happens next year.  Still glad the coaches are setting their sights fairly high for this first cycle.

Why do they announce that they are visiting and cancel at the last minute.  I just don't get it why it's happened so much this past few days.  Is it that they are being threatened by the coaches that they are commited to?  If not why waste other people's time?  Anyways, I am not disappointed with recruitng at all.  We will have a top class in 2016.  Go Blue!

Basically, yes.

Harbaugh & staff are shaking things up and making major runs at these players.  The players I think are genuinely interested, and then it forces their other school's coaching staff to fight off the threat from Michigan through a variety of tactics.  Sometimes it works (when the kids cancel their visits, etc.); sometimes it doesn't.

This quote makes me admire him even though it's a bummer to hear he's not interested:

“I am grateful for all the coaches that have recruited me, that’s just so nice for anyone. Michigan Wisconsin, UK, Iowa I do appreciate them coming in.”

He continued, “They don’t have to take an interest in me. I want to thank all the coaches that came into my house and into my school. Stuff like that, that is what I am grateful for. And for anyone who has helped me along the way. “

Will all the egos in recruiting, this is somewhat refreshing.

I think Wisky said if someone else walks through this door while you are "looking around" well your spot might not be there when you come back. I feel this is what Brady was trying to avoid....

You look around and you are no longer commited was the word around UM while Brady was head guy. I like Brady and his rule better, its up front no suprises you know if you look your lost that simple. This is all just an assumtion so please have mercy on my thoughts. The other way is behind the back and that could be what alot of teams are doing when a commit wants to "look around". Its very possibly what Wisky said to him behind scenes that he would be cut off. Not a fact I am not claiming this as fact but its another possibility.

I am not surprised that some of the recruits are going with the schools where they already have a relationship with a coach (like this kid with WISC).

I totallybelieve tht sme of these young men do not know what they want.........

I hope our team can show some real progress this fall.  Maybe ur 2016 recruiting class will be better.  I will remain positive.
