Pray for Chad Carr

So there's been a lot going on over here the past few days. Was going to wait to post until we really knew what was going on but we decided that from the beginning I said I would be open about our journey...plus we could really use
Some extra prayers right now. We met with chads surgeon while at the DIPG symposium. He had a chance to look a little bit further into his MRI. There is some swelling and some shading. Now his surgeon is actually optimistic that this is tumor death but unfortunately there also a chance that it is progression. At the same time, chad has been showing a few symptoms but those could be attributed to either. So for now we wait and watch. If the symptoms go away then we have our answer...if they get worse, well then we will also unfortunately have an answer. It's very difficult because Jason and I are watching his every move and wondering. We know this is completely out of our control and in God's hands....but it is not easy. Please just pray that we can stay strong and that the symptoms subside. Thank you friends!!

I fucking hate Cancer. I wish I could kick its fucking ass and stomp it's fucking face. I really hope those virus treatments can be ramped up and brought to the masses quickly, they seem to be so promising.

I can't even imagine what Chad and his family are going through. I do know that Chad seems tougher than any 4 year old I've ever met. I hope he kicks cancer's ass.

Illness, suffering and death are all terrible in whatever form they strike--especially when the target is a child.  But, it is also true that strength, faith and courage are even more powerful, and reading her post gave me inspiration.  I used it to pray for their son.  Hopefully many will be inspired to do likewise!

I am so, so, so sorry that the Carrs are going through this, especially Chad.

I hope and pray that this is Chad's tumor necrotizing and that these symptoms pass, leaving him cancer free for as long as possible. Most of all, I pray for mercy for Chad and his parents. I know Chad is getting the best care possible from the outstanding pediatric oncology department at Mott.

Yeah, fuck cancer. I don't think there is a better expression of my disdain for it than that either.

Definitely sending some good vibes in the direction of Chad and the entire Carr family. Cannot even imagine what it is like watching your child go through this ordeal.

A friend of my older son was diagnosed with cancer in his brain when he started having issues falling down stairs and having seizures.  It was in remission the last couple years but within the last couple weeks has decided to come back with a vengance.  So we'll add Chad's name along with Nick's.

More powerful than prayer is monetary donation to some of the nations top cancer research institutes such as Motts... If you have not yet donated you should consider it... We are on the cusp of breakthroughs with cancer research and the more money there is to work with the faster they will occur... There is a reason countries with money and advanced medicine have higher cancer survival rates and it's not because 'god' listens to the prayers of the rich... At least I would hope not...

Let me introduce you to communicating with Tact.

"I'm hopeful that the information collected turns into good news.  In the meantime, here's a cancer research fund we can all donate to to help further the study of cancer and hopefully drive it from this earth someday. (insert link to cancer center)"

Here, you would have expressed sympathy for the family and the childs position, expressed hope that this is trending in a good way, and not looked like a dick who doesn't think in the process.

and not just for the hot chick in the avatar.

I'm not exactly Captain Catholicism over here, but if prayer gives someone comfort and strength during difficult times, why begrudge them that?

My son is a little younger than Chad, and I would be completely out of my mind if he was in a similar situation.  In addition to getting the top medical experts in the world to work on him, at gunpoint if necessary, I'd also probably visit a priest, pastor, imam, rabbi, witch doctor, smaman, and maybe even a chiropractor.

Wow, so the latest test results indicate that either the treatment has worked or the tumor could be getting worse and the only way to know for certain is to just wait and see?  As a father of two young children, I can't even imagine the kind of agony Jason and Tammi Carr must be going through while they wait and hope for the best.  My heart goes out to both of them and I wish for them the very best of outcomes.

My thoughts and prayers go to Chad and his family for the best possible outcome. As a parent, I can't even imagine the agony of waiting.

Pray for Chad, that he may be healed.

And so, too, his family, that they find hope, comfort and peace.

And his doctors, nurses and other caregivers, that their work might be blessed.

Pray also for all who suffer, especially those who have no one to care for them, that they know God's mercy.

This is awsome. This is the 2nd time he has this procedure done, and the first time showed no results. The week or two after the 2nd round there is change, I'll chose to believe this is a sign of recovery. I may be optimistic here, but now that there is a change, there is hope.
