As the title say's pistons get the number one pick now it's time to determine who we should get . Everyone is saying Cade Cunningham as the obvious choose but I wanna here what everyone thinks. There was a lot of freshmam in the g league poeple are forgetting who played against grown man who are better then most college teams.

Look up Kuminga's G League efficiency stats.

Jonathan Kuminga looks like another Stanley Johnson. Did Pistons fans not learn anything from that draft bust? It was recent too. Johnson looked like Tarzan (6'7", muscular, bouncy) but couldn't do the things needed of a premier SF in the modern game.

Hear me out.

Mobley is a better fit for their current roster, and it's not even close.

Mobley and Beef Stew give you a dynamic frontcourt that can switch, rebound, and defend at an elite level. If you take Cade, what do you do with Hayes, who is the better ball handler and penetrator? He's a lot less effective off the ball.

I really don’t think anyone is forgetting about the G-League players. In every mock draft I’ve seen they have 2 or 3 of them going in the top 8. Cunningham is the obvious choice I think. He’s a great player and deserves to go number 1 in my opinion.

Question for those who follow this stuff: where does Suggs fit in the draft?  # pick?  What kind of role/ideal fit?

Was kind of hoping for the #2 pick as I think Jalen Green has the most superstar potential. You can’t pass up Cade at #1 though imo. I just hope they let him play the wing and don’t get caught up in the 6’8 PG bs everyone is going on about. There’s only ever been one great PG that tall and he’s no Magic

Magic was a point forward - a point guard in a (small or power) forward's body. Many people forget that when KAJ was injured, Magic played center for Lakers in the game 6 of the 1980 NBA Finals and nearly notched a triple double as a rookie. (IIRC, it was something like 45 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists.)

That said, 6'7" Penny Hardaway was a pretty damn good point forward too.

I remember rookie Magic playing center, and playing it respectably.  That man earned his nickname more so than anyone else ever had.  As good as Larry Bird was on a basketball court, he was limited to being a power forward.  Earvin Johnson magically covered the entire court, effortlessly.

Never forget the Pistons missed Melo, Wade and Bosch the last time they had a chance to draft in the top 2.  Whose the equivalent to Darko in this draft?

It sounds crazy because they haven’t accomplished anything, but the Kings May need to rebuild again.

Hield has looked worse and worse since peaking in 2018-19.

Bagley is a good player, but is super injury-prone (like Jaren Jackson Jr. from the same draft).

Fox is their only consistently great player, but I believe he is due an extension and may be an RFA this off-season or next.

This is one of the most poorly written OPs in history.

"As the title say's pistons get the number one pick now it's time to determine who we should get . Everyone is saying Cade Cunningham as the obvious choose but I wanna here what everyone thinks. As the title says, the Pistons have received the number one overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.  Now it's time to speculate on who they should select.  A lot of people are saying Cade Cunningham (should be the choice), but I would like to see how the members of MGoBlog feel.  Also, there were a number of prospects who passed on the opportunity to play in college in order to play in the G-League.  I've found that a lot of people are forgetting about these players, who played against older professionals.  These pros are often considered to be better than the talent on most college teams.

I suck at spelling and grammar and what I said likely isn't 100% correct. But I'll be damned if it doesn't sound better than that jibberish in the OP.

Good for the Pistons. I admittedly don't pay much attention to the NBA, but from what little I've gathered from the Pistons fans on the blog, for the last 10-15 years or so the Pistons have been stuck in some sort of limbo where they either end up as one of the last seeds into the playoffs with no real chance to make it past the first round, or if they miss out on the playoffs, they still end up with a draft pick far enough back to where they can't rely on getting any kind of game-changer for the franchise. That and being saddled with several really bad contracts.

Hopefully this year's draft changes that.
