Vegas is never wrong when they Michigan to win

means they think we equals; common home-field-titled spread

Our teams may be considered equals if we were playing at a neutral site. However, in this case, it seems we are not. Therefore, Vegas thinks we will win.

exactly! vegas gives a 3 point advantage to the home team because there actually is an advantage to being the home team. in other words, vegas picks us to win against uconn in the big house. i dont really care which team they think is better, i just care that they pick us to win.
actually i dont really care who picks us to win. i just care that we win.

for your "facts".

not true, the goal of vegas is to make money. they will encourage the public to bet on the wrong side of the line if they believe they are right. this is often why you see lines move in the same direction as the public favorite. the goal is not always to get "even money", it is to make the most profit possible.

They LOSE a lot of money. Ideally they want it split even, so the wins cover the losses, and they make the money on their cut. The Vig, as it were.
he difference between what is wagered and what is won is called the 'Juice' or 'VIG'. This 'Juice' or 'VIG' is one of the ways a sports book makes its money. In football and basketball the 'Juice' (or 'VIG') is 10%. In other words, for every $110 wagered you will win $100. If you lose the wager, you lose $110. If you win the wager, you get the $110 'Juice' refunded to you, plus the $100 in winnings ($110 + $100 = $210 total paid back to your account).http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=vig I don't doubt sometimes they do that, but it's a risky proposition. And not the way to regularly make money.

Rich Rod pulling a Wyatt Earp on Randy Edsall after the game?

would be fitting as he's bitch-smacking Danny Hope after blowing out the Boilermakers!

Wouldn't that be more apt prior to the game?

September 1st, 2010 at 9:36 PM ^
I'm fine with the 24, its the only 37 I dislike.
September 1st, 2010 at 9:58 PM ^
It was a typo, Phil meant to say MIchigan will win 73-24. It's ok, typo's happen.

-1 for misspelling "oughta" twice (in the headline and then the first line). Sorry, but them's the rules.

I am more than okay with this. I think it should be a W.
September 1st, 2010 at 11:00 PM ^
Unless I missed a new prediction, he has it actually 27-24 UM, and then 31-27 ND the following week. Smart man imo!
September 2nd, 2010 at 1:01 AM ^
more than a 3 point win on Saturday. I'll take any Win, but it sure would be easier on the "old ticker" if we just routed them right from the get go and never looked back. Last thing I want to see is one going down to the wire.
September 2nd, 2010 at 1:43 PM ^
It came out this week.

I have 42-20 but I will settle for anything that results in a Michigan W.
