On par with 1997 as of now, quite easily. There are a handful of games remaining to prove they are better. There is just nothing out there for opposing offenses. It's like we're playing 14 to their 11.

Im not sure how it compares, but this defense is allowing opposing offenses only 66% of their average rushing output, and 60% of their average passing output. Pretty insane stat.

Would be cool for someone to do a full side-by-side-by-side comparison, but in terms of total yards allowed, in 2006 we gave up 268.3/game, in 2016 we gave up 261.8/game, and this year we're giving up 220/game.
That last figure puts us 40 yards/game clear of the #2 total D this year.

It's not that he had bad form on the throw to Watson; it's that he telegraphed it. I mean he totally stared him down. It could have easily been picked off by his own guy.

Good thing that play won't show up on his upperclassman film. He's a freshman, who make mistakes. Look at the difference in Josh Metellus, look how far he has come. He still may be that All-American.

The only nightmare scenario for Michigan, if Michigan, ND, Clemson and Georgia win out with UGA beating Alabama in the SEC championship game. WTF happens then? Do you boot 12-1 Alabama from the CFP? We need ND to stumble to secure our spot. Otherwise the aforementioned could reasonably happen.
