Paul Finebaum is at it again......

Submitted by Hail2UM83 on October 22nd, 2019 at 9:59 AM

On Golic and Wingo this morning, Paul Finebaum provided the latest quote of our Coach:

" I could pick up the yellow pages of college coaches right now, close my eyes and pick a better coach than Jim Harbaugh.”

I am honestly sick and tired of this guy. He offers nothing of value when discussing college football other than to tell us all how great Nick Saban is. I may be in the minority here with that opinion, but thought I would share this.

My thoughts on his quote are this, if Harbaugh is so bad at his job why do we constantly here his name in discussion for NFL jobs? Or is it that he didn't like being called "Pete"?

I honestly don’t care if NFL teams want Harbaugh. You haven’t heard anything on that front really for a minute. And if he were to go back, I think he’d be in for a culture shock anyway considering the direction the nfl has taken with air raid mobile QBs.

It’s college stupid.

I think its hilarious that he is so bothered my Jim Harbaugh.  It's not as if Harbaugh is talking about Finebaum in his press conference every week.  Nonetheless, Finebaum gets clicks from it so he should be thanking Harbaugh behind closed doors.

My life is so much better than it would be if I listened to sports talk radio.  The Billy Joel Channel is back on Sirius XM.  I don't know why I'd ever listen to Golic and Wingo, or Finebaum, or Valenti, or anyone at all, when I could be listening to the Billy Joel Channel.

Dude is an idiotic sec shill, who says hyperbolic things to draw attention to himself. Anybody with a brain knows Harbaugh is still a solid coach just hasn't been as great as we were hoping so far.

Please note that posting Finebaum's comments on this board is forbidden.  This is from the OP on the Moderator Action Sticky thread:

The Drew Sharp Memorial Don’t Feed the Professional Trolls Rule. Pete Finebaum has taken the place of the late Sharp. Valenti is on there too. If someone's trolling Michigan fans, don't spread it.

Thanks.

Why can't we beat OSU now, but we could in the 90's and/or why can't we duplicate the success we had against them in the 90s?  Is it as simple as we recruited better then and OSU recruited worse?  Is it possible to ever beat them again without recruiting better or them recruiting worse?  Will things ever go back to UM being able to compete with OSU?

OSU was perennially better than UM in the 90s exception 1997.

Cooper just couldn’t beat Michigan. Thus he got canned and OSU owned Michigan since.

What a great gamble by them. Michigan would never have the gumption to do that

Their ceiling is a little higher than ours. They're pretty much at it. We're nowhere near ours. Accordingly, wins shouldn't be _expected_.

If we suddenly got to our ceiling I'd expect us to win 3-4 out of 10.

The Cooper years distorted everyone's view. Look at OSU's record against us since 1969 outside of the Cooper years. Brace yourself.

Also, we had two guys (RichRod, Hoke) worse than Cooper.

I would never hear a word out of Paul Finebaum's mouth if it wasn't for this website.

  1. If you don't want to hear something negative about our coach, stop listening to people who continue to put out negative blurbs about our coach.
  2. Harbaugh can change these narratives by winning something meaningful.
  3. Harbaugh's name hasn't been linked to many NFL jobs lately. Seems like one ESPN analyst mentioned Harbaugh's name a possible along with 2 other coaches in the middle of the summer when ratings are dying for any content and Harbaugh's name gets clicks.

To make it on TV, you no longer need to be a quality analyst.  You just need to be a Twitter troll who is willing to say your tweets aloud on camera.

I have no idea why people listen to ESPN radio (or watch their horrible morning shows) and then are surprised they have guys like Finebaum on.  Just ignore him.  He certainly doesn't believe half the shit he says, but he wants attention and posting about it proves it works.

Paul Finebaum has disliked Harbaugh since the satellite camps started as he resented Michigan trying to go in and poach SEC talent and take them up north.  He's paid by ESPN who televises the SEC and he has a weekly show on TV that is carried on the SEC network.  The fact that he doesnt like Harbaugh should be a great surprise to absolutely nobody and when he has a platform like this morning he's going to use it.

Personally I think Harbaugh should go full troll on all those bastards and instead of holding up random pictures for play calls we should use Union army Civil War general pics instead.  Imagine how insane Finebaum would go if THIS was some sort of play call......

Or recently as a month ago when he called the University of Miami* a 3rd world program...having no (or ignoring) the fact that oh I dunno, many Cuban refugees populate the area.  Dude is...he's nothing.

*Because they played Florida in week 0 and honestly, could've/should've beat them.  I'm sure he said this after a dipshit caller agged him on but nonetheless, typical southern charm.

The Golic and Wingo show is pure trash.  Commenting on Finebaum is almost unnecessary at this point as the world knows he is a complete dope.  This was the guy that said before this season that Tennessee is back and will start winning NC's soon.  Outside of Gameday, ESPN pretty much blows.  Amazing they could fit in some CFB talk around the NBA.

I'll give Finebaum credit that his trolling is usually more subtle. This is just dumb. I can name maybe 10-15 coaches who are probably superior to Harbaugh, maybe a few who are unproven/unclear, and the rest are in no way a better coach than Jim Harbaugh.
