Pat Caputo from 97.1 says Beilein left UM because of Izzo surge
I don’t understand the logic on this one. Caputo was adamant on air today stating his beliefs that Beilein left Michigan because of Izzo. Says MSU won three straight (which is true) and that the Spartans were accomplishing things that the wolverines no longer were. Claims Izzo was gaining so much momentum that Beilein knew he couldn’t compete with him anymore.
Am I alone in believing this is one of the worst takes possible?
The idiocy of many Spartan fans adds just a little more fuel to the fire for these upcoming games. Sorry for the rant.

One of the best things about no longer living in Lansing is I don't accidentally hear Pat Caputo's voice on my radio when I turn it on anymore. He's one of those profoundly bad writers who has stuck around because while newspapers are dying they aren't great at excising the tumors that still bring them some modicum of public awareness.
I would like to point out that while MSU had beaten UM 3 straight times, that was coming on the heels of UM winning 3 straight. I severely doubt Beilein was terrified of Izzo having played .500 ball against him over 2.5 seasons.
