I didn't find her nearly as annoying as I thought I would, but maybe that's because we were winning. The worst play by play guy out there imo is Greg Gumble (I know he doesn't do college games). He's just so damn boring.

I don't mind when any announcer goofs up a couple of words. Try speaking LIVE for 3 hours and not make those type of mistakes. Plus some are way cool!! It's the numbnuts like herbie that actually prepare remarks and say them precisely as intended and the "analysis" is simply, factually WRONG!!

but she did have a nice McCain zinger: "For the oldest rivalry trophy you have to go out West for the Territorial Cup between Arizona and Arizona State. They've been playing for it since 1899...no, I won't say that John McCain was there for the first game, but it was tempting." Musberger by himself is a reason to mute the sound, but with Herbstreit, it means following the game on Gametracker online due to all the really stupid graphics. Nessler spoils Griese and Mc-whatever is just plain scratch-the-chalkboard annoying. Try Griese by himself with no play-by-play! The Notre Dame people, Hammond and Hayden, hurt to listen to as they try against all logic to be Domer Homers. Fouts is gone, thank goodness. Pam Ward and Ray Bentley actually come out above the above, simply because they talk less. However, ALL the announcing teams just plain suck now. Keith and Grease were gods. Bill Flemming's ghost would rule today. Hell, Keith and Frank Broyles were really entertaining together ("Well, Keith, here you have the textbook Wishbone option. The quarterback bellies the fullback, pulls the ball out and heads down the line..."). When did the broadcast industry get the notion that people tune in to hear announcers babble through the whole game?

I have to say, the "Pam Ward is a man" joke is so fucking played. She is honestly no worse at her job than the legion of other stupid-ass men that do it. In fact, I'd take her before anyone on the Big 10 Network.

I totally agree with chitownblue. Sounds like a few folks on this site have some gender equality issues (to be kind). I thought we were past this -- herbie is soooo much worse!! (And, I think he is of the male gender, not sure really, he does have those big breasts!!)
