Just missed that fastball....in this kinda situation though you would have thunk the Ump would have gave him the benefit of the doubt.

Awesome!

I'd be lying, though, if I didn't admit that I'm still a bit bummed that he gave up that walk in the eighth =(

I still remember the awful feeling in 1983, when Milt Wilcox lost a perfect game on a 2 out hit by Jerry Hairston. Congrats to Justin, well done.

This thread is awesome to read in retrospect because everyone killed the OP then were like, "Yeah, no hitter.  You are still an asshat."  Man I love the semi-permanency of the internet.

But I did watch the whole game. Justin Verlander is a man for sure, throwing 100 mph in the 9th is ridiculous. So can someone who was here tell me what gordie bell did?

I did not use the words "perfect game" or "no hitter". My original title was something like, "15 up and 15 down for Verlander". The title changed in increments of 3 as innings passed. I was pretty much posting exactly what Mario and Rob were saying on the broadcast.

Now I'm the bad guy, yep Ol' Gordie's  the bad guy. That's what happens when you deal with a bunch of superstitious Papist praying for a Perfect Game while clutching and reciting a Rosary. Me, myself, I just made sure I didn't step on any cracks, so I knew i wasn't jinxing nuthin'.
