OT- Tigers 4/8
A nice little Easter afternoon treat. I hope you're all enjoying the holiday.
Scherzer takes the mound as the Tigers look to open the season with a sweep of the always threatening Red Sox.
It looks like Fister is headed to the 15 day - DL, so we'll start the season shuffling the rotation already. As well, the Tigers batters put the league on notice yesterday. It's still early, but if we can just get one game like that (a 10-0 win featuring 5 homers) once a week, it's going to be a fun season.
Go Tigers, and as always... GO BLUE.
I didn't necessarily mean that exact stat line, I meant more so taking a team to the wood shed, you know, getting a confident win.
Go Max, show us where you left off last post-season. Get well soon Douglas.
162-0. Callin' it.
Team looks great early. Pitching and defense are going to be an issue all year. Cabby is not a good defensive 3B - not even average - but his bat more than makes up for it. Should be a fun year. I love how Prince and Cabby have already become friends. Sounds silly, but I really can't wait for NEXT season when Victor comes back. That is going to be an all-time great season if we can stay healthy and Leyland doesn't retire or get run out of town by idiots.
I did and it wasn't even close to a "great" play. He made a play that is routine for his position. That is expected. He didn't even have to move for that ball. The only reason Cabby played 1B for us in the first lpace is because when he came on he made 5 errors in 5 games and Leyland put him at 1B. Cabby may cost us a few games on D, but he will win us many more than that with his bat.
Eh, it'll be interesting what happens with V-Mart. I'm not so sure at his age that this will be a smooth recovery and even if it is, I don't know if the Tigers will want to keep him or trade him away. If they do keep him, it will be interesting to see how he produces but if he does close to how he does last year the you're right adding him to Cabby and Prince will be insane
caution about only 2 games in apply, but Jackson looks like a new player. Patient at the plate, not trying to do too much. If he has a great year, we will score a lot of runs with what comes behind him.
Oswalt would be optimal when he signs in June, especially if Scherzer and Porcello struggle early with consistency as they have the last two eyars. Don't have a lot of faith in the Tigers farm system right now. All their plus players (save Verlander) in this era have come from the hot stove league or trade market.
Good luck man, gonna be a rough summer.
Gotta love the first couple weeks when MLB Extra Innings is free! Down in Charleston, S.C., I actually get to watch Fox Sports Detroit for the games.
Hit 'em where they a'int, Tiggies.
but Jackson looks really really good
This is the first time that I've caught the Tigers this year, and WOW I am impressed. Our lineup is dangerous 1-9, and Jackson seems to really have developed. Gotta love Fielder and Cabrera, power hitters who can still find the infield holes.
Anyone have a good link to the live stream? Firstrowsports.eu seems to be having issues with it today.
Great start again today, Jackson fouling off pitches then pulling a double. If him and Boesch can hit all season than good lord this lineup could be unstoppable.
Hell of a first inning.
This board is getting clogged up by way too many OT posts. Do we really need a topic that says nothing but "Go Tigers".
So, with approximately 80 replies a day, with 162 games, you want ONE "Go, Tigers" post?
Did you take your math courses up in EL?
We're getting bad Max, not Mad Max today. The bats better be able to keep up.
That balk was dogshit.
Josh Beckettesque. Without the long balls.
Tied game now... Jackson is bringin it.
