OT: SNF - Patrick Mahomes / Shea

Submitted by Mineral King on October 6th, 2019 at 9:07 PM

Anyone watching SNF? This guy is unbelievable. I think Shea’s style is similar and I fear he is trying to hard to emulate Mahomes. He has skill and can play. We all loved him last year. Shea if you’re out there, be yourself, not PM. Have a good week everyone, Go Blue!!

Mahomes is special. There are more and more guys like Shea who looked great in high school running around, avoiding high school linemen, then throwing to wide-open receivers. Shea's not the only one. Hunter Johnson at NU looks like the second coming of O'Korn.

Shea's an OK college QB, but he's in over his head. And now he's reluctant to run because he's had an injury. McCaffrey can see the field better, react to defenses better. Hopefully when he becomes the starter, they'll stop trying to use him as a runner.

Why would we want to stop using QBs as runners ? We need that QB run as a threat if we are ever going to run on a good team. If Dylan starts next year he can give it every time against bad teams, but you have to keep at least 5 times a game to keep the defense honest.

"but in college Mahomes wasn’t a nfl star in waiting..."

In Mahomes' junior year, he led all NCAA Division 1 players in multiple categories including passing yards with 5,052 and passing touchdowns with 53. He then entered the the 2017 draft where he was the tenth overall selection by the Chiefs.

Mineral King dazzling us with some more of his fake football knowledge.

I'm quite surprised that some in the MGoBlog community coddled and embraced this fraudulent poster.

Mineral King isn't funny, clever, or perceptive. And yet, there are people here who kinda sorta give a damn what he thinks or types.

Weird.

Shea is about the same height as Drew Brees. He should stop trying to play like Brees and be himself

MK, I thought I’d be the last to say it but you’ve jumped the shark. I’m really starting to doubt you’re Shea and I don’t appreciate you shattering that illusion. And this is just sad. Yes most football fans know who Patrick Mahomes is. No he has never made anyone think of Shea. I’d go underground for a few weeks then come back maybe before the State game with a post about how we need to stand behind the team and I’ll upvote the hell out of you.

What about their styles are soo similar?  The fact that they both play quarterback and can throw the ball forward?  The fact that they are both somewhat mobile?  I mean, a lot of NFL QB's play a similar style to Mahomes, he's just a lot better at it.  Mahome's ability to deliver the ball, both downfield and in traffic is incredible.  The arm slots he throws from and the strength he is able to get, even when off balance, is only comparable to some of the best QBs who have played the game.  But sure, a former 5* high school prospect who has failed to put up more than 10 points at home against an Iowa defense is very similar to the reigning NFL MVP...If you're going to point out similarities between Patterson and Mahomes, give some actual examples to some kind of video evidence to support it.

Like all shticks here the Mineral King is Shea is played out, not funny and needs to end.

Ha ha ha OP.  That's so funny....everyone thinks you're Shea so you'll make a post comparing Shea (which is secretly you) to the best QB playing football right now.

I've actually been impressed with Jacoby Brisset so far.

Mahommes makes some amazing plays but Indy is getting a lot of pressure on him. The run around and chuck it downfield strategy isn't sustainable and he's been off on quite a few throws.

Their styles are similar in that they both do QB stuff like handing the ball off to a RB, throwing to a WR or TE, etc.  But, as far as the level of skill at said QB stuff,  not so much.

"I think Shea’s style is similar and I fear he is trying to hard to emulate Mahomes."

I bet you're the only person on the entire planet who thinks Patterson's style is "similar" to Pat Mahomes.
