OT: Skip Bayless the latest to leave ESPN
Skip Bayless is the latest employee that ESPN lost to FOX in a bidding war. They apparently offered him $4 million a year (seriously?) which he turned down.
To me, this is a great opportunity for them to bring some fresh blood for a fraction of the price. But this is ESPN we are talking about, so they'll probably promote Jemele Hill to work along with Stephen A Smith and lose the few remaining viewers they have.

So can you explain what a POSBANG is?
If you have to ask, you are too young to know

"Kinda new here"
POSBANG is when something good happens that everyone just kind of Votes up on all the posts. Skip Bayless leaving ESPN is fantastic so everyone should be happy enough to vote up everyone. The opposite is a NEGBANG.

I have been on this site for years and never knew what that meant.
of the 20th century. Jogging suits, and. . . hair.
I am stunned that anyone would offer Skip $4 million. So much for "sports journalism..."
Bayless $4Million is that the idiot apparently turned it down.
There was a bidding war??? Over Skip Bayless??? WTF???

4 million bones to act like a jackass, spew verbal diarrhea, and have most people hate you? Sign me up!
It's kind of sickening when you think about it.
Junior Seau: made $25 million over 20 seasons. Death contributed mostly to concussions.
Skip Bayless: Sit in a comfy chair and fire off hot takes about athletes that make less than you.
well said +1

politics and sportscasting.
You can also add the local weatherman to that list as well.
only politics....
people worse at their job than Bayless which would seem impossible.
I'll hate you for nothing Indy!
Espn sucks!
they'll get better now that skip is gone?
Skip Bayless becomes the main Big Ten football pregame/halftime studio analyst on FOX.
Note how "Skip Bayless moves from ESPN to FOX" is equivalent, in many people's minds, to "Skip Bayless disappears off the face of the Earth."
Perhaps. But in fairness I never watch halftime, since there's always football on somewhere else.
But negative-brain osmosis is a danger.
Literally was just thinking how anyone could watch "FIrst Take" at lunch today... Just awful television.

Is it really possible? Are other people finally tired of idiots debating about nothing for hours on that channel instead of showing actual highlights?
I just love how they talk up how exciting a game was and then show 10 seconds of highlights, and usually only the best plays by the most famous player on either team, whether that team won or lost.
FS1 is building an empire of hot take artists. With Whitlock, Cowherd, Bayless, and Clay Travis they are assembling a who's-who of sports asshats. The exec that was responsible for the "Embrace Debate" culture at ESPN is now running things at Fox.
So maybe scale back those happy dances that Fox is getting a big chunk of Big Ten rights. Because all of your least favorite sports people are going to be the ones providing analysis on it.

One douchebag down....one douchebag to go
The problem isn't as much with the debaters (although I can't stand either Stephen A. or Skip), as it is with the premise of the show. ESPN will just replace him with another douchebag, even if that person isn't in fact a douchebag, because the show requires douchebag commentators that spew off bullshit hot takes.
Make ESPN great again. Show games and highlights.
i miss the days of australian rules football
I definitely picked the wrong profession.
Man, FoxSports is really betting heavily on personality-driven products.
Fox Sports has assembled a Mount Rushmore of hot takes: Skip Bayless, Colin Cowherd, Clay Travis, and Jason Whitlock. They only need to add Stephen A. Smith, Woody Paige, and Jay Mariotti now to assemble an all-time roster.
if ESPN went back to showing highlights on Sportscenter instead of people I don't care about talking about crap for 45 minutes.
I'd rather him leave the media all together.
